“Sensational food!”

Situated near the High Line this is a beautiful restaurant for lunch - great food, excellent range of drinks, and friendly service. It was a hot day when we visited and the waiter recommended a mix of cider and beer called snakebite - try it!

“Great food if you have plenty of time to wait! :-(”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

We arrived at 9:30pm and I told it would be a few minutes for a table to clear outside in the garden area. We were seated at the bar for about 10 minutes and no one took our order. We were all thirsty having just walked the High Line and a nice gentleman from San Francisco offered me his bottle of water and clean glass. Needless to say he was a life saver and the 4 of us shared the water and glass.

We were finally seated and given menu's. The lighting in the garden is quite dark and we used our cell phones to read the menu. It took 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us and take our drink order. (Side note: when we were seated, the outside was full, within 20 minutes most of the tables left). Drinks took another 15 minutes. We tried to order, but that took another 10 minutes. Finally we ordered and by this time it was nearly 10:15. It took another 20 minutes for the food to arrive. We basically had no customer service. We had to flag down another waiter to refill our drinks and bring us the lemon we had requested.

The food when it arrived was very good. The macaroni and cheese with truffles was light and flavorful but the portion was really small about 1 cup, so don't count on it for a complete meal. . The Barbeque brisket sliders were smaller than typical sliders, but quite tasty.

Overall the food was great, but the service...not so much! Be sure to wear shoes and not flip flops. There are little mice running around outside, but hey, it's NY!

“A great experience right near the High Line.”
Reviewed February 28, 2013 via mobile

With all the amazing changes happening in Chelsea this is the newest gem in the area. The food ranges from burgers to Mediterranean entrees. The food is excellent and you will find some interesting combinations. The decor is lovely and the highlight is the beautiful garden in the rear. Quite a surprise! When I visited in January the garden was equipped with fire pits and blankets! I can only imagine how lovely it will be to visit in the spring.

Do visit GastroMarket. You will not be disappointedly

“A great feeling place”

Sitting right beneath the High Line, this place has warm decor, excellent food and a variety of draft and cask beer and wine. Beer wasn't very cold - but that's my only complaint - loved it there!!

“Interesting beers”
Reviewed November 9, 2012 via mobile

Interesting array of beers available. Very short wine list. Didn't have any food but looked ok, only sandwiches really available. I imagine good for lunch.

Nice spot near the highline. They have an outdoor area but it was closed for repairs on the day of my visit.
