“Good location but a little noisy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2013

Pros :
1. 2 mins walk from subway. There are 2 lines serving that station so it's very convenient.
2. Many eateries and shops close by. We stayed for 5 days and never had to go to the same joint twice. There is even a Burger King across the street.
3. Free WiFi, and free use of computer in Lobby. You can check-in to your flight and print your boarding pass at the attached printer.
4. Helpful staff.
5. Lots of TV channels. This is useful if you are travelling with kids.

Cons:
1. Our room is on level 7 and faces Suffolk St, at the corner of Delancey St. We were upgraded to the upper floor because we are priority club members. However, we could still hear the traffic on the roads. Traffic there is very heavy because the hotel is very close to Williamsburg Bridge. However, I spoke to another guest on the same floor and he had no issues with the traffic noise. In other words, this would only be an issue if you are a light sleeper.
2. Room is very small but this may be normal for NYC.

We are satisfied with our stay there and will consider going back.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn LES last week for the Dodger vs. Yankee series, and I was pleasantly surprised. I had my tickets delivered directly to the hotel, and they were waiting for me upon arrival. Room is nice, yes the room is small, but we woke up early and returned late so not a big deal. The location is awesome for a good New York walk, lots of bars and restaurants in the area, try the Meatball Shop and Katz Deli just a few blocks from the hotel. The blocks are very small in NY, so walking is easy. We actually walked to Times Square one evening after dinner, and it was such a great way to see the city. Delancey Street can seem a bit intimiadting at first, but we walked late at night all over the area without any problems, you'll be fine. Easy subway access to all over NY, and an easy walk to Little Italy and the 911 Memorial.
Only complaint would be the $50 car service to the airport, and the hotel will not help you with cab service. We decided to hail a cab, but it was a bit of a pain. Cab to Laguardia is about $30 plus tip, so it you don't mind paying the extra $10-15, get the car service. That's the only complaint, other than that, this place is good to go.

Dear gameover,

Thank you for the nice review.
We are located in the up-and-coming area of the Lower East Side where there are many great restauarants and bars and shopping, and just one block from a major train station (Delancey-Essex) that from there you can get to just about anywhere in the NYC area in less than 30 minutes. Many places are within a short walk of the hotel. Thanks for the tip about the Meatball Shop. I'll have to try that out.

As for the car service...you cannot call (by phone) a taxi in NYC, you must hail them from the street. Taxis can sometimes cost more than a car service due to they charge on time and mileage, so in busy times in NYC that can cost you more than a car service and can be difficult to get one. That's why most hotels have a car service available that can charges a flat rate, can be there at a pre-determined time and are typically a nicer ride than a taxi.

We hope to see you again. Enjoy your Summer. Take care.

Our daughter recently graduated from NYU Stern, and we needed overnight accommodations for family members. At first, I had booked at another hotel, but when I learned that the jackhammering we were told last August was a temporary condition was still very much going on, I needed to find another hotel if I wanted to sleep those two nights. That brought me to the Holiday Inn.

We were very pleased in general with the Holiday Inn Express. Staff was very friendly and helpful. As one graduation was at 11 am, we needed to check on in the morning. We were able to store out luggage and pick it up in the afternoon.

There is a 7 Eleven nearby, and the hotel itself has a convenience store of sorts in the lobby as well as a restaurant downstairs that we did not visit.

Due to the narrow, one-way streets, getting to the hotel without going over the Williamsburg Bridge can be challenging, to be sure. There are two parking lots nearby.

The rooms themselves are new, very nice, and extremely clean. However, our second afternoon, it was very late in the afternoon, and the room still had not been cleaned. I just had the staff member make the bed. And speaking of beds, our room had one king-size bed. The rooms are very small, even by NYC standards, and our two carry-on size suitcases basically filled up the available floor area. Had we been there for several days and had large suitcases, I am not sure where they would have gone!

There are some nice restaurants nearby, and we did take the opportunity to walk the Williamsburg Bridge and back in the evening.

I don't think we will be back in the area, as my daughter has graduated and moved uptown, but if we were, I would book the Holiday Inn again.

I will be sure to pass along your comments to the housekeeping staff. It is nice to know that you appreciated and noticed their hard work. Our location is great and even though your daughter is moving uptown, we do hope that you keep us in mind for future visits.

I stayed at this hotel in June 2013 for 4 nights. The location is fantastic. You are a 1 minute walk to the metro station and within 15 minutes you are in Time Square. There were 3 adults staying in a double room (2 double beds). It would have been a bit too small for 4 adults but most of the hotel rooms in New York are small. The rooms were very clean and had a TV. For the price, it was excellent value for money. We didnt have any problems with noise in the hotel and we all slept very well. My only suggestion is perhaps a bigger wardrobe. There was no room for 3 people's clothes but it didn't really bother us. I would definitely stay here again, thank you very much for making our stay so enjoyable.

I love this hotel. It's loctated in a real historical area of NYC lower east side. Hotel close to Williamsburg bridge snd subway and is a brand new hotel with excellent staff. I loved the retro diner in the basement. I will be staying here again.

Room Tip: Visit orchard street for cool hipster type shops .

Great location on the Lower East Side. It's located on Delancey right at the foot of the Williamsburg Bridge, within walking distance of dozens of cultural food options, bars, and unique shopping (and the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, a great thing to do in NYC), and is a block from the Subway.

THe rooms were clean and the hotel updated. Given other travelers' recommendations, we asked for an upgraded room to Superior, and that was a good idea. One of our rooms was a corner room, and we didn't hear the noise from the hallway like our family in the other room, who heard the ice machine at night and talking in the hallway. I would stay here again.

My only real complaint is the cost of taking a car service from the hotel to Laguardia is 50 dollars, which is more expensive than the other hotels that I've stayed at in Brooklyn or Manhattan. The staff said this was the agreement with the car service provider. I might try to catch a cab next time (cab from Laguardia to the hotel was about 30 dollars).

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room.

This place was way nicer than I expected for the price! Everyone who worked there was so helpful and friendly. The one negative( if you can call it negative) is that housekeeping came about four times a day. Seriously. They want to clean your room! Take advantage of this place being new and stay here!
