I have to agree on the comments posted earlier: our room was small that cannot be denied. We had bunk beds and moving around together around the bed area is impossible but if one is in the bathroom and the other then uses the space around the bed it works just fine. There was also only enough space to put one suitcase but we fixed that by using the little desk as suitcase storage for the 5 nights we stayed. The deskspace was vital since there are no shelves or wardrobes to unpack so you have to live out of a suitcase during your stay. Personally the latter did not bother me but just want to mention it. Since we literally only used the room to sleep and shower the size was not that important to us. The fact that it was super clean, the bathroom had a decent size (especially compared to the actual room), the staff very friendly and helpfull, the WIFI is included in the price (and worked very well when we stayed there) and the really good overall price of the room was more important to us. We were a bit hesitant for the neighbourhood but there was no need. It is close to the hustle and bustle but just far enough out to not have half of NY outside of the hotel during the time you want to sleep. We (2 girls) never felt unsafe at any time. Plenty of breakfast opportunities in the neighbourhood (I can recommend Zucker's (370 Lexington between 40th and 41st) .Dinner is a bit more tricky but not impossible. I can recommend this hotel and would stay here again but people need to decide for themselves if they can live with the rather small rooms or not. One tip: stay away from the bar / restaurant below. Overpriced food (the portions are ridiculously small and we are not into XL portions at all) but the worst are the bartenders (they all excelled in narcism but one guy in particular: Jeremy.) Cocky, selfabsorbed guys who cannot handle the amount of people in there and then work it out on the customer . To put it nicely they were just rude and this was the only time I was tempted to leave no tip. Yes the place is full every night but why is really beyond me. The food was good in flavour but that does not make up for the tiny portions and the attitude. 3 blocks away (3rd avenue between 37th and 34th ) you have plenty of good alternatives. I am not sure if the bar is somehow part of the hotel or not. If they are the manager of the bar should give his people the advice to take some lessons from the staff of the hotel on customer service.
