No New York visit without going to the Chelsea Market a few times. There is a perfect mix of shops, restaurants and take outs. Also great in there on a rainy or cold day because you find everything you need!

My wife and I just spent our Saturday afternoon at Chelsea Market prior to dining out at Buddakan. The market is an awesome place to spend your day and explore different foods. There is something for everyone under the same roof. I grew up and still live apprx. 20 miles outside of NYC in Jersey and this was my first time visiting Chelsea Market. I LOVED IT!!! Will definitely return. It's a great place to buy lunch along with dessert and take it upstairs onto The Highline and have a meal al fresco overtop the city.

This is the former National Biscuit Company cookie factory (Oreo's) and is now jam packed with interesting shops, restaurants and galleries - all because someone had a vision. I think you could show up every day and find something new. We arrived hungry and lucked out and got a table for lunch. Everyone was able to get what they wanted as there is so much to choose from. I'm envious of the villagers that have this in their neighborhood. It's a treasure and you should see it while in town. Combine it with a walk on the High Line for a really special day.

On a school trip it was a good place to warm up from the cold wind. Lots of food shops and different types of foods for students to look at. Plenty of little cafes but not the shopping experience that young teenagers really wanted.
