“Wonderful suite, fantastic service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2014

What a gem! The suites are gorgeous, the staff is white glove superb. Great location to Central park, shopping, wonderful restaurant and lounges. The spa is one of the city's best. Amazing city views with floor to ceiling windows. Room service prompt and delicious.

Room Tip: Spend the extra cash and upgrade to a suite. The bathrooms are amazing.

There are lots of beautiful hotels in NY and around the world. What makes a hotel top notch is their staff. I can't say enough amazing things about the staff here at this hotel. Jason at the front desk is a fan of Broadway, such as myself. He had a few recommendations and he was spot on. Bill or Billy (not sure) the concierge was able to secure tickets for us to Cabaret at the very last minute. We were there for a corporate event and the hotel catered a few of our events. The food was very tasty as well. The view from our hotel room was of Central Park, which was a nice change from the sky scrapers in NY City. It is attached to a small mall which allows you to go grab something that you may have left behind at home.

It is a bit on the pricy side but, everything in NY is.

Room Tip: Try to get a view of Central Park.

My husband and I had the luxury of staying at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in New York. This was our first time staying there.

This is the most amazing hotel with the absolute most delightful staff that create the ultimate in customer experience. I would highly recommending staying at this hotel should you have the opportunity.

This is my first time stay in New York with my family, my wife had a complimentary stay at this very nice hotel and residential from her boss. We stay 3 night on the 66th floor with view to the west, though it's not facing the central park but we can see statue of liberty and harbour from the window.
Location is very great tithe Columbus circle, we can just walked in to the central park, next to time warner center, few minutes walk to times square,Broadway, avenue of America's and metro station.
Facilities is very good, room lightning, everything is automatic, just the button.

NYC is expensive, as is this hotel. But it was in the perfect location, accessible but above the din of street noise. The view of Central Park is incredible, even if its just from the bar on the 35th floor (which is where the actual hotel starts). The rooms were immaculate, well appointed with plenty of room...unlike most other NYC hotels getting up in the middle of the night is not an exercise in what do I stub my toe on or bang my knee into. We had both a tub and a shower and a private toilet which is also not the norm in NYC. The bedding was great, the desk convenient and the only drawback was a TV that was wonky at times (frozen and garbled pictures) that the staff blamed on the cable provider. And the staff were very friendly, very helpful and tried very hard to make this a comfortable stay. Overall, a very good experience.

What an experience! From the moment we walked, to an upgraded room for not having the room we were assigned, the view of central park from out our living room windows and my favourite, the free books in the sitting area of the bed room.

The room was beautiful, the staff was friendly and ready for anything you could ask for!

It was a beautiful walk home each night and steps from the park, train and anything else you might need

It was very pricey but we definitely got the service you would expect and beyond!

This hotel has all of the accouterments that one would expect with a luxury hotel: Plush bath and bed, large size room, etc,
However, the check-in procedure was a letdown. We had arrived early and did not expect a room, but the reservationist said our room was being made up took our phone number and said she would call when it was available. We came back hours later, after three o'clock check-in, and found our room was still not made up (???) She assigned us a different room, and although that solved the problem I was put off by the disingenuous assurances that she first gave us.
In addition,I found two small shortcomings, neither of which the hotel can rectify:
First, the Central Park view is an oblique view of the Park. Not a head on 12 o'clock view that one would get from the Plaza or the Pierre which are situated closer to the Park. Our room was on one of the uppermost floors and the view we had was about at 8 o'clock on the dial. Again, not the hotel's fault, but do not anticipate anything more.
Second, even as a guest it is very difficult to get restaurant reservations. I know that reservations should be made well ahead, but a month ahead it is difficult to decide at what hour you will be able to round up all parties to dine. As a result, we never had to go to the Plaza for lunch and sadly experience the decline of the Palm Court. Again with the restaurant being open to the general public and even with the hotel's policy of reserving the better window tables for guests, it is difficult to dine in house leading to a degree of estrangement.
Hint: If you want a quick sandwich and do not want to leave the building, try the food court or one of the (non-hotel, but very noisy) restaurants on the third floor.
