I was lucky enough to spend one night at the Mandarin during the Sandy Blackout. Their staff was excellent, the room beautiful. I had room service, it arrived on time and prepared exactly to my specifications. It was one of my best hotel experiences in New York City.

Room tip: Ask for a Park view.

I stayed at this lovely hotel Xmas 2010. On the 40th Floor with a room over looking Central Park with a picture postcard view. The bed I slept in was one of the most comfortable I have slept in anywhere in the world. The hotel is in a very good location on the upper west side at Columbus Circle right accross from Central Park. with easy walking to fifith avenue and shopping and galleries.
The brekfast room over looks central park very high and the staff were wonderful. They even arranged a car to take us to Radio City Music Hall during the snow storm so we wouldnt have to battle in need deep snow. that attention to detail.
Clearly one of the best hotels in NewYork.

Room tip: Request a room overlooking Central Park. its worth it.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in October 2012. I was upgraded on check-in to a Central Park View room. What an upgrade! Tea and cakes were delivered to the room when I checked in, which was a lovely touch. The view is the best I've ever had from a hotel. Was so great to sit and look over the top of the trees in Central Park. I ordered room service one evening. Beautifully presented, and delivered on time. Top quality, restaurant standard. It was great to take the lift down to level 3 - and walk straight into the Columbus Circle shopping centre without even stepping outside. The hotel is very peaceful. I never heard a thing from my room. Housekeeping was superb. I declined it during the day, but when I went out at 7pm, and returned to my room, I was delighted to see the room had been made, with fresh linens on the bed. I will return here on my next New York trip. Front desk staff and concierge were the nicest I have come across. Very genuine. Not snobby in any way. Concierge were great in giving me directions to The Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Thanks MO NYC!

Room tip: Make sure you book a Central Park View room. You won't regret it.

Spent 4 days at the Mandarin at a conference in October 2012

Lovely location right next to Central Park. Reception staff were lovely. Room was
very high up. Rooms start at 37th floor, so make sure you have a head for heights!

Make sure you hire a bike from an organised seller (not the touts with plastic cards showing pictures of bikes). Eat at the excellent Mariu Restaurant near the hotel.

Food quality excellent but expensive.

Room tip: Rooms start at the 37th floor, make sure you have a head for heights!

This time I finally had a Park view room.
There is nothing like a view over central park at sunrise from this hotel. Check the photo I uploaded.

Service is excellent. Rooms are absolutely perfect and comfortable.

This hotel is in a great location in midtown, next to Central Park, Broadway, close to Time Square, NHM and 5th Ave.

It's expensive, but if you looking for a perfect comfort with a feel of luxury, this is it.
