There s not much to write home about. Just a five star with views views views.... very elegant and sophisticated but lacks warmth... a hotel for successful business without charm... not for princesses like me...;) ... I like many hotels in new york a lot better..and for half the price or less!
(At breakfast at the" super sophisticated " Asiate restaurant ...they bring the check before you ask for it... that s rude in China , Japan, and everywhere... and the juice... you have to beg if you want natural freshly squeezed juice... )
Front desk , door men and housekeeping very kind and professional, but I would prefer to go somewhere else next time...

It was interesting to see that this hotel received top billing from a busniss viewpoint, but as a tourist it was not to good.
In our room the bath room and the corridor where larger than the bed room, there was a 10inch gap between the bed and the wall and only 1 bedroom table .
But I did find the hotel staff absolutely perfect.
O I nearly forgot about needing a fork to close the toilet or bath room doors, a $5.00 doorknob would fix that.
What? No coffee machine?

Room Tip: If you're a tourist , don't stay there, the absolute wonderfully staff does not make up for...

if you want to enjoy brunch with breathtaking views on central park at the same time, then stay at this hotel ... rooms are well equipped, bit small but that's nothing new for NYC .. Rooms facing Hudson River are the less popular ones but cheaper. I wouldn't go there again, but for a one time experience full of luxury and decadence, this is the place to go !

Stayed here for my wife's birthday courtesy of our son. Were upgraded by the hotel to a suite on the 53rd floor, with beautiful views of the Hudson river and a little of Central Park. Hard to imagine a better appointed room. Living room was all glass walls with fantastic views. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom well appointed. We've stayed in many places around the world and this was one of the most amazing experiences. We've been in the lobby for high tea once before, but this time enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant overlooking Central Park. Very tasty eggs benedict!

I enjoyed this hotel but it's too expensive for what it has to offer.
The lobby lounge and bar beside the huge window are definitely worth visiting for the experience (a drink with a beautiful view of Central Park and Columbus Circle). The rooms also have an amazing view but are too small. Brunch at their restaurant Asiate is definitely worth going back to.

It's long ago that i stayed in Mandarin Hotel but I'd like to recommend it to everyone who travel especially for business but also for other reasons that Mandarin is the hotel to be in NY .
All the times I stayed there i was feeling like home , the rooms are spacious and comfortable , all the services of very high quality and the Asiate restaurant is a real gourmet restaurant.
As i say before THE HOTEL, a real experience , how hotels of that level should be.

Room Tip: Junior suite with central park view.

Fantastic view! Amazing room. Big, comfortable, zen decor. You can just sit by the floor to ceiling glass window (wall) and watch people, cars, carriages, helicopters passing by like they were fishes in an aquarium.
Spacious bathroom with waterfall shower.
Service is great, could be better.
Room can be noise, and your night can be ruined, if parties are going on on same floor.
High tea has a delicious Asian quick to it. It's been my place for tea!
