10 year old daughter and I went ice skating for first time. Good value considering there is no time limit. If you are planning on skating for 20 minutes, not so much. View is amazing. Ice is great and resurfaced often. Good mix of locals which was important to me, as it usually means a place is pretty legit. We went when it opened at 10 and basically there was just a handful of other people there. Popular music played over the speakers. Did a lot in NYC but this may have been the highlight. Skip the crowds at Rockefeller and come here. Get there when it opens- beat the crowds.

We had a fabulous time at the rink. We went on the last day of our holiday before flying home. The rink is a great size, you are surrounded by the beautiful park and views of the NY buildings. It could not be any better. If you get the chance, give it a go. We were really glad we did something a little different on our last day.

Fun place to skate but a bit daunting with first timers falling around and showboating staff flying. Even so, its a nice sized rink and resurfaced often enough to mostly keep it usable though on crowded weekends it can get choppy pretty fast. The prices are high but on par with the other park rinks in the city. Staff is bored inside and very show offy on the rink, but it's the only rink you can reenact the sticky bandits at. Also watch out for people eho have never skated before going way too fast and completely clueless around you as skate blades end up in the air often.

except the rink is big and beautiful, The guards on ice, is the most cheap class and snobbish people, they would not allow you to ice back forward, and not allow you to skate at the center, unless you are having a lesson. So dose it means you cant skate too good on the rink. they would chasing you out if you use the phone, also the way they tell you not to do those thing, the way they look at you, just enough to make you feel bad for couple days. very bad experience there. they could ruin your days.

This was one of the highlights of our weekend in NY. I was trying to decide between here and Rockefeller Center, and I'm so glad I chose Central Park. The rink is quite large and you're surrounded by the opulent building overlooking the park. We even had snow flurries while skating. Absolutely magical!

Tip - they only take cash.
