My husband and I went to the rink this holiday season 2012. We went to Bryant park last year; loved wollman! . There was no wait, easy access to lockers, and the view was spectacular from Central Park. It was a bit pricier than Bryant but well worth it!

This is the second time we visited the Wollman Rink on our winter adventures to NYC. So much of NY during the holidays is bright with twinkling lights, festive music and ornate window displays. Wollman Rink takes you away from the crowds, lights and noise just into Central Park offering a large ice skating rink, concessions, and a viewing area. Your backdrop as you watch the ice skaters are the last buildings before Central Park begins. The Plaza, Time Warner and residential high-rises frame the sky and at night, it takes on a new dimension! Lighted trails around the rink allows different perspectives and views. We choose not to ice skate, which is the main focus but feel there is more than that to be enjoyed and a nice stroll through Central Park can add a different dimension to your trip.

Great setting for Xmas day ice skating. Went around 11 and the queue was quite short but after looked quite long!! Good value for money if you take your own skates (hire skates looked very poor!). My 3 boys loved it (ages13,11 and 9).

Being from out of town, we needed something to do between the parade and time for TG dinner at 4:30.

This was the perfect filler for that time! I took three 17-year olds and they had a great time skating.

The pictures of them skating in the park and the trees/buildings in the background are gorgeous. What a beautiful day!

Skating rink is probably 3 times bigger than Rock Center and half the cost. Just be aware of the ice cleaning times-that lasts about 30 minutes per cleaning.

Typical ice rink but what a backdrop
Quite expensive but worth very cent
Very busy rink, lots of novices and a few show offs like every other rink
