“Fantastic”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

Stayed here for 5 nights.
We picked this hotel for location & price. Internet / parking / breakfast all included, couldn't go wrong.
Location was great to get anywhere in Manhattan. Only a 5-10min. walk to 3 main subway lines, we were able to get anywhere quick all the time.
Rooms were clean and very roomy.
The lobby + breakfast area also clean. The breakfast options were plentiful and delicious. We didn't feel like having to go anywhere else, even after eating there 5 mornings in a row.
My only complaint were the mattress. We sleep on fairly firm mattresses, and these were far from that. I knew that booking this place from reading the review, but be warned.

TIP: If you plan to watch quite a few broadways, and don't mind which ones you see, this hotel is only a 2min. walk to the seaport TKTS booth, and its the first one that opens (before times square).

You get what you pay for. The South Street area is still struggling with many storefronts empty, presumably from Hurricane Sandy. For under $200 this comfortable fit 3 adults and an infant. Nice that breakfast was included. However disspointed with the conditions of the bedding (frayed) and bathroom silicon seal at sink was peeling and molding. Housekeeping could have alerted maintenance. Bathroom accommodations looked tired.

Stayed three nights, specially made reservations to stay in same room, using points first night and paid $369/night for next two nights. Check in was great and desk staff wonderful. Management called us to desk day 2 and said we had to move rooms due to the type of reservation bed we requested... Said we did not want to move and was told we had to. Moved to 2nd room that had not been updated, and had roof deck off room closed off due to railing guards missing. Looked like it had been that way quite some time. Missing guards piled on deck next to us with weeds growing up between them

The hotel is clean and for NYC is a good deal for the money if you're looking mainly for a place to drop your bags and lay your head during a trip to the Big Apple. It's a small property, with little ambiance and no views or scenic offering. The staff is friendly.

Affordable and stylish accommodations in the heart of the city. Construction noise was limited to daytime hours only and there was a great complimentary breakfast and wifi. There were some mosquitoes in the room one night but the staff were extremely responsive when I reported the issue. Given the options in the area I recommend this hotel for its location, accommodations, and the excellent service provided.

Stayed here on a Sunday night in October. The location is great for the financial and seaport districts. (Scaffolding out front made it difficult to find.) The lobby is well kept and the rooms are very clean; pretty standard size for the city. Breakfast offering was great - oatmeal, eggs, turkey sausage, juices, pastries, coffee, tea. We had a room by the elevator but the rooms were somewhat quiet..until 7:00 am when construction outside woke us up. (We had intended on sleeping in after an active night out.) Also, the cooling unit is not very great - it will blast cold air, stop until the room warms up and blast cold air again which is not very comfortable for the person who's sleeping closest to it. The staff was very understanding and gave us full credit for the room. They also discount parking (the garage is across the street ).

Room Tip: Ask if construction is still going on.

This is an average hotel that I got for a reasonable price (295/night) for a work trip. It's convenient to a lot of different things, including lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. Beds are only okay, particularly compared to higher-end hotels I have stayed in. The rooms are fairly large by Manhattan standards, but a little worn in spots (though pretty clean). Staff was friendly and efficient, though I didn't ask much of them. Very worn out and loud elevator that Hilton should work on. Free internet and free breakfast (these add up to $30 in other local hotels, so free is very good). Access to subway is a 15 minute walk, and there are a few restaurant choices nearby. By the way, don't bother with one called Acqua - overpriced and below-par food. There are several lively pubs in the area though these wouldn't be especially good for a solo taveler. Overall, just average.

Room Tip: Away from Pearl Street is best -- this street is very busy with noisy commercial traffic and buses.
