“Great!”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

Was looking for a hotel in the Meatpacking/Chelsea district. The art deco cruise ship vibe is cool and laid back. There are lots of model types staying here and a ecclectic crowd. The restaurant and bar are fine and laid back too. It gets a tad loud on Sat, so I would recommend a higher floor with a view of the Hudson river. Marvis toothpaste and Biegelow products are a great touch as is the round 5 ft portal windows. Plus you are right across the street from the Chelsea Market, the High Line and close to the Piers. Seriously, what else do you want?

Room Tip: River view, higher floor

I am use to staying uptown in NYC when I visit for business or pleasure, but I have to say I loved the Chelsea/Meatpacking district so much more. The Maritime was a great hotel and the staff were super friendly and helpful in pointing me in the right direction. I had the flu while I was visiting for work, so I had the pleasure of ordering room service from the hotel and everything I had was amazing and brought up very quickly. I also loved the provided products in the bathroom from Co Bigelow & Co. The room was small but had an amazing view of the Hudson river and the sunset from my port hole window was not to be missed! I will for sure stay here again as the hotel was funky and comfortable and the area was great for walking around in.

Room Tip: Ask for river view

We stayed at the Maritime over the 4th of July holiday. The views of the fireworks from our room was spectacular! My family and I stayed in one of the suites located near the top of the hotel and we felt like we lived the life of a celebrity. The rooms are luxurious (beds and linens are amazing) with cool views of Chelsea Market and the river. The staff is very warm and welcoming.

Can't wait to come back! Thank you for making our stay one for the memory books.

I recently stayed for the third time at The Maritime, a wonderful boutique hotel. Great location to Chelsea Market and fun walk to Hudson River front and parks. Fantastic beds with great room amenities and outstanding views of the river. From the time I entered the Hotel, I was greeted by friendly, courteous, and extremely helpful staff whether it was the doorman, front desk personnel, room service or housekeeping.

I stayed here as I was visiting a trade show nearby and was thrilled to find just how well positioned this hotel is, just over the road from Chelsea Market, walking distance to Meatpacking etc.
Staff were Great! Always very helpful and courteous and I ate at the restaurant four times, I loved theF&B in la Bottega restaurant.

As with most hotels in Manhattan the room was small but in no way felt cramped and was well appointed. Loved the lavender and peppermint toiletries and the bed was Soooo comfortable.

I'll definitely stay here next time I'm in New York but the next time I'll bring my husband!

Room Tip: Ask for a Hudson River view room

Great hotel - in a good spot. Came on recommendation.

Cool, laid-back entrance and lobby. Stylish room and bathroom. Very comfortable bed. It's in a lively area so there is street noise - but if it bothers you there is a 'window plug' for the giant porthole windows - which works pretty well.

Bar is good for a drink, but the restaurant looked a bit uninspiring so gave that a miss - but so many good places to discover nearby anyway.

We will be back..

We booked a room here for New Years Eve 2013 and had a blast... The hotel is conveniently located in Chelsea, very close to the Meat Packing district where all the good parties are at.

It was a breeze to get to and from the hotel, the rooms are super cute it almost feels like you are inside of a cruise ship stateroom, with the Large porthole windows and all!

We will definitely come back for another New Year's Eve party
