Right to the point. Fun if you have the time but hardly worth making a dedicated trip into Central Park for. If you're near it, why not. It does have a nice view of a pond below it and some sporting fields to the north and would be an interesting stop along a much larger tour of the park.

My sister was in town for spring break so we went to Central Park and this was one of the that we saw. We walked up to the top tower and the views of New York were phenomenal! I love that our weather readings have been coming from here since 1919. I can't wait to go back and see what the view is like with leaves on the trees!

We were walking on some of the trails in Central Park and came upon Belvedere Castle. It was quite impressive, and quite interesting to explore. Once you climb the narrow winding staircase to the top, there is a neat view of Turtle Pond some of the New York skyline, and the trees of Central Park. We enjoyed our time there! It was an added bonus to our day in Central Park! I recommend checking it out!

Pros
- if your primary focus is to see Central Park, then stopping by to see this 3 storey mini-castle as an aside is okay
- great views of Central Park north
- free but a donation is appreciated
- no line up
- washrooms available at the bottom of the hill

Cons
- if your primary focus is to see the castle, then you will be disappointed by its size. (A 5-10 minute visit is all you need.)

In the spring and summer, the castle is approached through a lovely garden. Once the visitor has reached the top, there is a lovely plaza and from there, a birds eye view of Turtle Pond. Inside the castle, there is a weather station. It is well worth the visit
