We went here as part of a walking tour recommended in my lonely planet guide book, a great stop. The views inside the castle are great and across the pond from the other side has brilliant views of the whole castle. Fascinating to have discovered it was the weather observatory as well. the stairs are very narrow/steep inside the castle if you do decide to go upstairs.

A not-so-busy attraction buried in Central Park with amazing city views. I read about this here on TripAdvisor and knew we had to find it. It was not easy, but definitely worth it. It would make a great place for a wedding!

this castle is such a great stop for anyone... except, anyone with a stroller or wheelchair that wants to go on the top 2 levels. The stairs are built narrow and there is NO elevator. However, you can still see the sights and same view. So, for people with stroller or wheelchair, you will enjoy it - anyway. Parents may take turns checking out the top levels. A $2 donation is suggested. We had a great time. You get BEAUTIFUL photos

The castle has a couple levels that lets you see more of Central Park from higher ground. Peaceful and serene setting overlooking the pond and near the theatre. There is also a map here that you can reference where everything is in the park so you can roam around. Felt pretty safe even though could be a secluded walk.

Take great pictures from here.
See the theater full with shakespeare in the park. Belvedere Castle is located at Mid- central Park on 79th Street We got great images from the great lawn, turtle pond and the nyc skyline.
Its a must to visit the castle.
