My wife, four-year old and I visited the city in August 2016 for a family vacation. After some research online, we decided to stay in the Chelsea area, as it was 'quieter' than the main tourist zones like Times Square. This proved to be a very good decision, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hampton Inn Manhattan Chelsea.

Our room had two beds, and it was quite comfortable for the three of us. The bathroom was clean. The counter space in the bathroom was tiny, but we made it work for us.

The staff at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. The main sell for me of Hampton Inn properties is the 24-hour hot coffee in the lobby, and we made great use of this. The breakfast was good to start the day and the grab-and-go bags were helpful with our little one who was a picky eater.

The location of the hotel is absolutely fantastic. It's close to most major subway lines, two blocks away from Madison Square Park and one bock away from a Whole Foods Market, where we bought snacks and lunch/dinner items to pack on days out on the town. There are also quite a few nice restaurants in the area and the hotel is a short walk away from the High Line, which provided a wonderful venue for an evening stroll. The hotel is also seconds away form many coffee shops, pharmacies and ATM machines.

I've stayed in the Times Square area before, which is always has a crazy rush of people. The Chelsea area was fantastic for our young one, and this hotel really checked all the boxes for comfort, value and convenience.

Extremely pleased with all aspects of this hotel. I happened to get a great rate which made it an even better deal. This will be my first choice for accommodations at future NYC stays. The location was better than I expected. Convenient & close to practically everything.

We stayed four nights in the summer and were pleased with the hotel. The room was comfortable and quiet and the queen bed was really excellent. The breakfast was included in the price and it was a buffet with a wide choice of food.
The hotel is conveniently located near a subway station and only a few stops form Macy's and Broadway.

Room tip: Choose a room not too high up so you can use the stairs. There are only 2 lifts and they get busy in the morning.

Traveling to New York can be hectic but the good folks at the Hampton Inn will make you forget about all the travels. Friendly staff, clean rooms, great complimentary breakfast and always a smile on the staff's faces. I will not stay anywhere else whenever I travel to New York.

This was our first time visiting NYC and we could not have been happier with our choice of accommodations! The Hampton Inn is located in a great spot between two subway stops and is in great walking distance to many attractions. The staff was welcoming and friendly no matter who was on duty. The hotel has a boutique feel. Our room was small but fine for two people. The bathroom was updated and spotless! We stayed for three nights and it really felt like our home away from home. Breakfast was great too! And the ice water in the lobby every day hit the spot after returning from miles of walking on very hot days. We highly recommend this great hotel and it truly added to our New York experience!

Room tip: We had a King bed and our room overlooked 23rd St. Very nice!
