I visited the zoo yesterday and had been there once before. It's not huge and only takes maybe an hour or 2 to go through, but it's fun and very worth the price. The tropic and penguin exhibits are especially cool. If you like birds like parrots, peacocks and birds of paradise, they have a great collection in the tropic area. Also nice is that the exhibits are all close together, so it's not a typical zoo experience where you're walking for miles and miles. That's especially good because most of us visiting NYC are already walking enough for transportation and don't need to get tired at an attraction. The children's zoo is okay. You can feed goats, llamas, and sheep, but most of the animals weren't too keen on being nearby if you weren't also feeding them.
