Owner description: Oasis of wildlife in downtown Manhattan where visitors can encounter more than 1,400 animals in a variety of habitats, including a tropical rain forest to view rare birds and icy Antarctica to view penguins and other chilly creatures.

I visited the zoo yesterday and had been there once before. It's not huge and only takes maybe an hour or 2 to go through, but it's fun and very worth the price. The tropic and penguin exhibits are especially cool. If you like birds like parrots, peacocks and birds of paradise, they have a great collection in the tropic area. Also nice is that the exhibits are all close together, so it's not a typical zoo experience where you're walking for miles and miles. That's especially good because most of us visiting NYC are already walking enough for transportation and don't need to get tired at an attraction. The children's zoo is okay. You can feed goats, llamas, and sheep, but most of the animals weren't too keen on being nearby if you weren't also feeding them.

What a great little zoo in Central Park! While it is small, for little ones this place has a lot to see and frankly it is a very nice zoo as far as the quality of the space .Will return with my niece anytime she wants. Worth a visit, not cheap though if you are on a budget.

This is a resonably sized zoo and a great place for having fun with Kids, the animals are close by and the staff and diretions are user friendly. And we did not want to miss the home of my favorite Alex and Marty from Madagascar.

This is the smallest zoo I ever visited but because of the sea lion feeding and the presence of red panda's and snow leopards it was very special. We also booked the 3D movie Ice Age and that was nice but as it is an exact copy of a part of the film, I can't recommend it.

What a little gem! In beautiful Central Park is this lovely little zoo - that is easy to do in a short space of time.
