“Nice Afternoon Stop”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2013

My son took us here for afternoon snacks. We got there about three o'clock and were pleased to find happy hour pricing on a wide selection of food and drinks. Sushi comes around on a conveyor belt and gets to every table, and if there's something you want, but it's not on the belt, they'll make it fresh for you. The place was pretty quiet in the afternoon, and our waitress was relaxed, friendly, and attentive enough. The Asian-Mexican mix of menu items was creative and good. If you want truly excellent food in either of these categories, go somewhere else. But Taka Taka was good. It was a nice atmosphere for my wife and me, and for our son and daughter (in their 20s) and a couple of their friends.

“Wish we had one of these in MN”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

We just stumbled across this place on our walk through NYC. We enjoyed all the creativity in the menu and cocktail creations. Although we didn't have a full meal just a few snacks, we really enjoyed our experience here. It's worth it to stop and try a few things.

“Great food (snacks), original and tasty”

It sounds funny, Mexican sushi and Japanese Tacos, but it is worth trying. The tempura shrimps were great as many as the new and original starters.

“Fun combinations...great mex/jap find. Try the Japanese tacos”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2013

Actually some great tasting food at this diner type place in SoHo. Conveyor belt sushi and then 8 tables. Fast food place.

But a few great tastings;

1. Rib Eye Teppanyaki
2. Cilantro Shrimp Tempura

Worth a try if you are in for something quick and quite tasty...and different

“A cool place for some chic sushi mexican!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2013

I had never tried mexican style sushi until i tried Taka Taka! This place is a great place to hang out with a mate in TriBeCa and catch up over a delicious brunch. Great service! Great food. Download their app, snap a picture of your check and get a free cocktail!

We will definitely be coming here when we are back in NY.
