I've stayed everywhere - most recently Trump Soho and Gansevoort Park Ave (in one bedroom suites). Stayed this weekend in one bedroom suite on 5th floor, because it was the way to get a Sat night reservation in the Hotel's restaurant (which happens to be the hottest in NYC). Off the hook. hip and refined at the same time. My new favorite hotel in the City. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Suites are way to go - lots of room.

The rooms are a lovely place to come back to from a day out in the city. They have a new old-world charm and luxury as well as a wonderful claw-foot tub in the middle of the room. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and the cocktails are some of the best and most unique the city has to offer. The neighborhood is still up and coming, but there are some cool places nearby and it's just north of the Flatiron district. I would completely recommend this new hotel.

I spent a long weekend at the Nomad and found it very enjoyable. On past visits I have stayed at the Mondrian, soho Grand, TriBeCa Grand and Thompson LES. I would put the Nomad in the same category as those other hotels as far as design and ambiance are concerned, but the rooms were priced better. The location (flower district/north Flatiron) isn't as good as being downtown (hence the lower room rate), but the stunning Madison Park is around the corner and Union Square and the heart of the Flatiron District (with its great restaurants) are a short walk away. The hotel was nearly renovated in very tasteful fashion and still retains some of the building's historic charm. Really enjoyed it overall and would definitely go back.

Had a great stay at the Nomad, the staff was nice and helpful despite being new. The only issue I had is that the site said the hotel had a gym and its not open yet, but it will be soon. All the details in the room are brilliantly planned with dimmers in the light switches among other well planned amenities. The restaurant is gorgeous and the bar is superb, ask for a higher floor room. The location si two blocks from amazing so ignore the immediate location and head two blocks south, or one up for great coffee at stumptown at the ace

This is a brand new hotel. Within the past month, in fact within the past week, the hardwood floors were polyurethaned. They look lovely. Very shiny. However the fumes from the toxic overlay have not aired out. Fumes are flammable and often cause headaches. My husband is allergic to the fumes and becomes nauseous. We tried several rooms; all were still off-gassing. The customer service was polite and offered to air out the rooms with an ozone machine, which they explained would replace the air in the room. Alas, would not cure the shiny wood fumes. They alskisses kind and offered to find a hotel room for us in a nearby location . It was 4 pm Friday. Slim pickings. Weekend was really slam dunked into an unexpected dimension and became more of a hassle than romance for hubby and I. I wish this group of youngsters who are running this place all the best. But thier construction PM should have been on top of the scheduling and have had poly-Ed the floors 2 -3 months before opening. As is, most folks will experience a headache sleeping in off-gassing room with closed window. Please, if you have sensitivity, please be aware. Also gym/work out rooms were advertised but not ready for customer use. Most likely this place will be comfortable for those sensitive to chemicals 3-6 months from now ( may 2012)

Room Tip: Ask about fumes

The NoMad just opened officially on April 1, which could be part of the reason it is still so clean but, it is truly a beautiful hotel with an amazingly friendly and attentive staff.

Don't be turned off by the location - which is a little odd for Manhattan. It is walking distance from the Flatirons shopping district, Union Square and just steps from the N/R train uptown or down to SoHo.

Loved it!
