I booked this hotel as a surprise birthday present and it didnt disappoint. The room had a stunning, if thought-provoking, view over Ground Zero and the new No.1 World Trade Centre building.
The location is fantastic, with the hotel sitting in a quieter part of town (over the weekend), just south and a short walk from the vibrant neighbourhoods of Tribeca, SoHo and the Village. The hotel's neighbourhood lacks some of the atmosphere of some of these other areas.
Rooms were large for NYC, something helped by the panoramic windows. I imagine that as the World Trade Centre site develops, some of these views will disappear. The hotel is close to some key tourist spots, including Wall Street, the islands and the amazing early 20th century architecture of lower Manhattan.
Staff were helpful, if a little transactional - providing umbrellas when the NYC weather let us down. Overall, this hotel provides a great choice for seeing and enjoying the key tourist sights of New York.More
