Went here with a friend for lunch. Difficult to find. On the south side of 47th Street very near 6th Avenue. There is a no-door entrance next to a jewelry store. Go up four flights to restaurant. Very basic decor; a hole in the wall - key to likely being good food. Be aware that menu is in Spanish and all but one counter person speaks Spanish - another key to likely being good food. I suspect the menu changes daily.
You order at the counter, and they'll call you when your food is ready. (They accept cards.) Good traffic flow of people coming and going, as well as eating in. I suspect given the restaurant's location and appearance, no tourist has ever gone here. A good thing as far as I'm concerned.
I had chicken breast which comes with rice, beans and a small salad. Exceptionally good! Chicken had a fantastic smoked/grilled flavor. There is hot sauce on the table. I didn't think it was that hot, so I used a lot of it.
I definitely will go here again.
