Don Antonio's Pizza is a Napoli pizzeria located just off of Restaurant Row in New York City.
The restaurant is small and the seating can best be described as 'intimate'; you may be eating elbow-to-elbow with other guests.
However, the pizza and service are more than worth it.
I had previously tried Lombardi's and come away wondering, 'What's so great about New York Pizza?' Don Antonio's changed my tune. The pizza, which was ready about five minutes after I ordered, was some of the most delicious pizza I've ever had. Thin, personal pizza sized with a flavorful, soft, airy, and chewy crust with generous portions of cheese and tomato sauce. I would, without hesitation recommend visitors to NYC stay at the Hampton Inn around the corner just for the proximity to this restaurant.
If you don't know what to order, go for the Margherita. It is simple and exquisite. Ask for the spicy oil to go along with it, and add to your pizza to your taste preference.
The atmosphere, though cramped as described above, can be romantic due to the dim lighting, service, and the nicely appointed interior. Recommended for dates, pizza lovers, and anyone who wants an outstanding dining experience.
