If your looking for traditional, spicy, heavily oregano'd, gooey, tomatoey, greasy pizza I would avoid Don Antonio's. This pizza is closer to what you'd get in Italy. Flavors are more subtle, less bold but ultra fresh ingredients. The cheese, an imported smoked buffalo mozzarella was amazing. The Montanara Starita pizza (speciality of the house) was beautiful. A lightly fried dough, then topped and finished in the wood burning oven. It was delicious. The menu offers quite an assortment of pizza options, appetizers, and salads. They also have nice gluten free options. The TV showing the cooks preparing the pizza's is also an added attraction. We had an assortment of beautiful, flavorful appetizers. Try the Fritattine a spaghetti cake with ham and buffalo mozzarella. The best part was the value for the quality of the food. We had an assortment of appetizers and 4 pizza's and for 5 people it was $20 each. That included the tip and tax too, no drinks. We could have ordered one less pizza but we were pigging out. The service was excellent and even though a crowd had gathered awaiting tables we never felt rushed. The pizza's are made very quickly so your not sitting for 20 minutes waiting on them. I would highly recommend Don Antonios!!

The pizza is great. I have eaten a lot of pizza in Naples, and if this is not as good, it is really really close. The wine is very, very over priced. This is something to consider if you like to enjoy a couple of glasses while you have your meal. A big turnoff for me is that we were rushed terribly our waiter. He was visibly and unashamedly impatient with us. We wanted to enjoy some wine and salads, and he was dumping our meals on the table. No sooner had we received our pizzas then he was at the table, check in hand, asking "is there anything else?" It was so obvious that he wanted to throw out food at us and turn over the table he really should have been fired. And I promise we were not slow at our table. Haven't been back since, but maybe he is gone and one can enjoy this great pizza.

Good food and nice place.

Very small-but the selection of pizza choices was exceptional. Good variety and service.

Two of shared a salad and a pizza and were fine.

Went there solo on a business trip, and boy, was it a good choice. I had the fried pizza (I cant recommend it enough), which arrived super-quick. You can watch via TV the staff making the pizzas and working the stone oven... fun stuff. I know pizza at its most basic is easy, but the quality of ingredients easily makes this pizza stand out... everything was fresh and tasty. Don't hesitate to try this place!

Want a small local oriented gluten free pizza parlor? Don Antonio's is situated between 8th and 9th ave on 50th. This is one of those smaller pizza parlors with just enough spaces to allow you to sit and enjoy the atmosphere of a local restaurant. The hand formed and wood fired pizza was incredible and ready in a minimal amount of time. Price point was excellent for this location near the theatre district.
