three Gustav Klimt pieces that are worth to see. A very good presentation of Ferdinad Hodler, swiss painter, that includes several pictures of his life and his lovers. I is small museum but very nice and walkig distance from metropolitan museum of art.

The art collection was quite varied (despite emphasising German expressionism), and interesting to view. I also loved the building housing the collection. The space felt very comfortable and evocative of old New York...

This museum is a grand old building with spacious rooms and a magnificent curved marble staircase. The restaurants serve German food which was surprising good. We went to see Klimpt's "Adele." She didn't disappoint. The audio tour was concise rather than too much information.

The New York Times recently reviewed the current special exhibition of work by Ferdinand Hodler, and I commend you to that article for details. We were "captured" by the exhibit and the free audio guide provided meaningful background to enhance the experience. Add in brunch at the attached Cafe Sabarsky and you feel transported back in time to pre-WWII Austria. We arrived about 11:30 a.m. on a Sunday and went straight to the cafe without having to wait. By the time we exited the museum at 1:30 p.m., the line to the cafe went out the door. Go early or make reservations, but don't miss the cafe or this special exhibit.

Wonderful visit to the Neue Galerie. Had a great breakfast in the Cafe. The museum is interesting and the bookshop is great. A must stop when in NYC.
