“Perfect NYC hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 2, 2013

This hotel was such an amazing find. It was the most affordable place we could find, and it was so much better than the $350+/night midtown corporate chain hotel we had just stayed at for a conference. The Wall Street in was cozy, charming, clean and comfortable. The room was huge and beautiful. My only complaint was the very skimpy and poor quality continental breakfast. It was so meager and bland that we just skipped it and ate the nearby Patisserie Financier.

If we ever go back to NYC, I would not stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: Choose a room that faces the front street, because the noise from the restaurants and bars in the ba...

We spent a Friday and Saturday night here recently. We usually choose from 4-star hotels, and this happened to be 3 stars, but we actually like it better than some of the 4-star hotels we've stayed at in NYC, especially downtown. The main reasons: Price was excellent (sub $200 / night pre-tax). The lobby and rooms were very clean and well appointed. The decor might be a teeny bit worn, and no - it won't make you forget your last stay at a Ritz, but you feel very "homey" here. The location, despite being a bit "tucked away", is excellent. It's next to Stone Street with all it's taverns and eateries, a less than 5 minute walk from Wall Street and excellent Metro subway connections to midtown and uptown. The value is enhanced by a very decent continental breakfast just off the lobby (if the small room where the food is served doesn't have available seats, there is a larger room with many more tables just off the lobby). You'll see many folks from all over, although when we were there, predominantly Western Europe. This is just one comfortable and easy place to stay at. There are not doormen hustling you to help you with luggage, but if you're the low-maintenance type, that's no problem. One thing we did hear about from the front desk people that might be worth thinking about: With Stone Street one one side of the hotel, in warmer weather the bars have outdoor seating and there are many people who enjoy food and drinks in the open. They said they occasionally get a complaint or two in the warmer weather from guests in the lower floors whose wont is to retire quite early. For most people, this scene just steps out the door is an unalloyed positive, but to each their own.

We were delighted with our decision to stay at the Wall Street Inn. Wonderful accommodations in every respect. Loved the ambiance and cleanliness of the entire facility. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful in making our stay memorable. Also loved the location. Lots of our tourist destinations w/i walking distance and those that weren't, were conveniently located to several subway stations. An A+ Stay!

I stayed in this hotel with my daughter in March 2013.
The hotel is located in lower Manhattan in very quiet area but only 5 minutes from nearest subway station (Wall Street).
Hotel is well maintained and in NYC-standard cosy and rooms are spacy.
Breakfast is typical US-style (coffee, bagels, cereals).
We were very happy with our stay.

The hotel is a clean, quaint hotel right off of Wall Street. Great for business or personal. Reasonably priced (by NY standards). They offer a complimentary continental breakfast. When you stay there, it is like having an apartment in the city. Great neighborhood. Right off Stone Street. Parking garage across the street. Friendly staff. Surrounded by great restaurants. Delmonicos, is right across the street! A few blocks from ferrys to statue of liberty and governors island, the seaport, the stock exchange and 9/11 Memorial.

No frills here, just a good business location. The hotel is located near the stock market and ground zero. this is lower Manhattan. I would not advise staying here if your a tourist with kids, uptown would be better. But if your a person on business in lower Manhattan, and want a quiet clean place to stay, its perfect for that. Many places to eat behind the hotel.

Room Tip: I think the corner rooms were bigger.

I'm a little late to review this as it was nearly 2 years ago that we traveled here - and my husband and I only stayed here one night - but our experience was too good to not write about!

We stayed at the Wall Street Inn the final night of our honeymoon - which was a cruise that departed and returned to NYC. We wanted to take advantage of an early return and extend our honeymoon an extra day in NYC as I had never been to the city before. With funds extremely tight due to wedding planning and an already expensive cruise-vacation, we hoped to find a reasonably priced place in NYC that would still be special enough for a final night of honeymooning!

The Wall Street Inn was amazingly priced for a Saturday night - probably because of its location. I don't know much about NYC, but I imagine this area of the city is busier during the week due to its proximity to Wall Street and other financial buildings. The cost of the hotel was significantly less than most others of similar ratings.

I suppose many people want to stay closer to the center of NYC on a trip - but this hotel was close to many attractions that we enjoyed walking to: Trinity Church, Wall Street/NY-Stock Exchange, the WTC site (still under construction when we visited in June 2011), and a Tiffany's (what's not to like about that, ladies?!). Plus, we were a few blocks away from a subway station and used that to get to Times Square and other more tourist-friendly sites.

The room itself was charming. Perhaps I'm jaded a bit as we had just gotten off a 5-day cruise with a tiny cabin, but I found the room very spacious - the bathroom was as big as our entire cabin on the cruise ship and the amenities in the bathroom alone were above and beyond what most chains provide: plush robes, high-end toiletries, and a tub so deep and wide you could almost swim in it! There was ample closet space and the queen-sized bed was comfortable. I remember the elevators were a little old and rickety - but didn't seem like complete death traps!

The lobby had a constant supply of pastries and beverages and included a simple breakfast in the morning that was more than adequate for the cost. The concierge helped us coordinate a taxi pick up to get to our flight and was super helpful with ideas the night before for travel and dining.

The only gripe I had was that I think this place is so well hidden that no one knows about it! The taxi driver that picked us up at the port off the cruise ship had NO IDEA where it was - had to call his dispatcher who also had no idea - and we incurred a hefty 411-fee and taxi-fare finding the place. Not sure if we just had the only taxi service in NYC who didn't know about the Wall Street Inn, or if it really is that hidden.

As we only had about 24 hours in NYC, we plan to go back someday (hopefully soon) - and the Wall Street Inn will be at the top of our list for hotel considerations!
