“A fine small hotel”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

I spent a night recently at the Wall Street Inn. Very well located if you need to be in the Wall Street area. The NYSE is just a few short blocks away. The hotel staff was fine, not outstanding. No complaints there. The rooms are comfortable, though by no means large. My standard room with king size bed was fine for me, but I think two people might be a little cramped if they intend to spend significant time in the room. Internet service was free and good, with a reasonable speed of about 1.5mbps. Free continental breakfast in the lobby, but with a very basic selection.

Room Tip: One note of caution is that there is a bunching of fun bars -- Stone Street -- behind the hotel, tha...

We arrived by air at Kennedy Airport and very easily travelled to the Wall Street Inn by subway.

On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by the friendly receptionist and we were soon in our room which although it was not huge it was adequate for our 3 day stay and was clean, tidy and not noisy. The interior decoration of the hotel, including the rooms was very pleasant.
The big double bed was comfortable, the TV worked OK, there was adequate hanging space for our clothes and the bathroom facilities were good with nice towels. Air conditioning was not used as we visited New York in March 2012.

The 6 story hotel, unusual in down-town Manhattan, was close to restaurants and bars and very close to the Staten Island Ferry terminal. Getting to other parts of Manhattan was very easy because the hotel was close to at least two subway stations and the site of the World Trade buildings (Ground Zero) was a 15 minute walk away from the hotel.

In the mornings we went downstairs for the buffet breakfast which was a very pleasant bonus as it was included in the room rate. There was a good selection of breads, jams and pastries and boiled eggs were also available. I believe that cold meats were also available. Tea, coffee and fruit juice were the main available beverages. Breakfast was indeed a pleasant experience and a good start to the day's sightseeing but the breakfast room was quite small and sometimes finding a table was difficult.

Whenever we were in the lobby we were greeted by the hotel staff and they certainly made us feel that we were welcome guests.

Will we use the hotel again? Definitely.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room. We were lucky! Some of the rooms are overlooking a busy road.

My daughter and I spent five days at the Wall Street Inn and have no complaints. The staff was attentive and friendly, our room was well appointed and cleaned daily, and the complimentary pastries and beverages were a welcome touch. Though convenient to Battery Park, Trinity church, and all things Financial District, finding the hotel is a bit tricky(especially at night). However, you needn't wander the city in search of a meal since it's surrounded by pubs and restaurants. I highly recommend this place for someone seeking peace, quiet, and the antithesis of Times Square.

The first time we were in The Wall Street Inn in June 2012 and remained are very happy. And again returned to this hotel fallen in love to us. We very much like its location, nearby there are a lot of places for a dinner, both a hotel interior very beautiful and cozy. Also we highly appreciated a transfer in Kennedy Airport. Very well, and cost absolutely low. In the first trip room was more successful, angular. This time at first gave on 6м a floor, but there somehow unpleasantly smelled, we addressed for replacement, and to us replaced it at once without problems. Very tasty baking for a breakfast, available during the day. The cozy hotel, some personnel not too friendly, but also not rough so we will come back here again!

The Wall Street Inn, which I never knew was even there as it is hidden on a side street, is perfect for someone who doesn't want high rises, big lobbies, or lots of people, yet is comfortable, reasonable, and conveniently situated.

Just to let you know how small it is, without that small feel, it has only 1 elevator and 5 floors. It has a good-sized lobby for a hotel with so few rooms. We were greeted right away, the front desk was helpful with directions and recommendations for what we needed, and there is a little room/cafe type with tables and chairs and free continental breakfast (very small, just coffee, tea, bagels, toast, whole fruit, cereal, and some sweet rolls There is a workout room, but it is still under repair from Hurricane Sandy.

The rooms are ample and bathroom on the smaller side (not many places to put your stuff!); hair dryer, plenty of towels, nice hot water, refrigerator in room, safe in room, beds comfortable. We chose 2 queen beds and didn't hear a sound all night, as the small street doesn't have truck traffic at night. There was a problem with the heat, but the repair person was professional and fixed it in 10 minutes and had come up within 10 minutes to fix it. I did notice Hurricane Damage with dried wet spots just inside the windows, but there was no smell and it was not a problem. The area is still trying to repair itself from Hurricane Sandy.

The one elevator was not a problem; we never waited more than a minute for it. Cleaning staff were very pleasant and friendly. Essentially, we never waited for anyone or anything.

Location is wonderful, as there are cobblestone streets in the area, and Century 21, coffee shops, small and large restaurants of all types, UPS, and Subways within short walk, and Broadway and Broad streets have lots of shops.. Wall Street, of course, within 2-3 minute walk. Trade Center just over a mile away; easy walk.

Did not use room service or the restaurant, which is located in back of the building (have to go around the block).

Overall, this is a mini-gem in a very busy area, and we will stay here again.

Room Tip: Second floor did not have good phone coverage, not sure if other rooms on higher floors have the sam...

The bed was large and very comfortable, on the other hand, bathroom was little small. There many choices around the hotel for restaurants and bars. It is a small hotel therefore it took us some time to find the hotel, other than that we had no problems during our stay.

A little hidden, you need to know where it is even if you are in a cab, so you can give the driver directions. Once you are there, it's very comfortable and very welcoming. The room was a little tight for space but well-equipped. The breakfast, included, is more than adequate. Try to avoid a room at the back of the hotel, especially at weekends. It looks out onto Stone Street, an outdoor collection of pubs/eateries, which is well worth a visit but where the revelry goes on well into the night.

Room Tip: Avoid the back of the hotel if you can.
