“Nice, clean hotel with a good free breakfast right in Midtown.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2013 via mobile

Clean, pleasant rooms with a rather ccomfy bed and overall clean hotel. Would be a great location if you're planning on doing most things near Times Square, such as Broadway shows. It is not super close ( 4 blocks/ 1 block) to a Subway so for us the location wasn't PERFECT but still good!! Some of the staff was super friendly and helpful, other staff seemed annoyed when you needed something. Cool tiny little bar that had great beer prices and a happy bartender. The continental breakfast was a good one, not sparse ... lots of choices. Not CHEAP, but it is NYC, what good hotel is? For where you stay, a reasonable price! Would definitely choose to stay there again.

Finding this hotel on Trip Advisor made our NYC three day trip so easy. Located two blocks from the "hyperactive" Times
Square offered the best of everything. The rooms were adequate size, had very comfortable bedding and a fresh urban look to the room. Having a NY type continental breakfast was a plus, as was the coffee and tea machine in the lobby. Since we come to NY theater twice yearly, this will be the hotel of choice for convenience and quiet nights for sleeping.
The ethnic Food Trucks in front of the hotel M-F added to the experience of NY.

Booked this hotel after an extensive search using Tripadvisor, wanted a hotel that wasn't too high.
Location was great, come out of hotel turn left and the next street is 5th Avenue. Come out of hotel and turn right, cross over one road and you are in Times Square (one and a half blocks).
Central Park 10-15mins up 5th Avenue so you can view the shops on the way.Rockerfella Centre max 10mis away and Empire State Building the same so you could walk easily to these New York Landmarks. Hotel entrance similar to most other New York hotels i.e. right on street , the lobby and lounge were nice and as photos on net, but once you went upstairs it was in need of refurbishment. Corridors narrow- one abreast -and not that clean, room on the small side and very dark. we were perhaps fortunate to have a small narrow slit window (some guests had no window at all) but it could not be opened so to me upstairs felt very chlaustrophobic .Must say bed was very comfortable. The free continental breakfast- plenty of food bread /toaster ,bagels, boiled eggs, cakes, yogurts etc. Like others had reviewed before 9am lovely after 9am, still plenty of food (continually replenished by staff) seating was a problem. The service at hotel was not that great, we asked reception to book us a taxi as it was pouring down-they said "sorry cannot do go out and hail a yellow cab on the street which I thought was not very helpful.
Would I go there again- No
Was it value for money - Not really
Were staff helpful - No

Room Tip: Ask for a room at front so you get a window- so you get some daylight

Overall good experience - big, spaceful room (considering it's NYC), nice shower, great location (a few min from Broadway). Breakfast choice isn't so big but you'll find smth. to your taste. Overall recommended hotel.

I stayed a night in this hotel, May 29, 2013. Not anything to write home about; small room (like I guess all other rooms in NYC), the bathroom and the room were clean, but certainly not the corridors - at least the 2nd floor corridor (I stayed in Room 205). The corridor was poorly hooved, or not at all. Not a good impression to make to a guest, who has to go through the corridors to get to his/ her room! The bed was comfortable with several pillows provided. Check-in was fast though the check-in staffer was not particularly welcoming. The hotel lacks elegance, but makes up for it by being very near Times Square, nestled on 46th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues. The street is rather quiet, so one can get a good night's sleep.

We couldn't stand staying there more than a night. The reservation date was wrong. There were lots of dirt marks everywhere. On the curtain and on the bed and then we found lotf of short hair on the bed and on the sheets. They changed the sheets for us but still there was short hair on the sheets. The rooms are so small that when we opened the door, the bed was right in front of us. Very old place with dirty and dusty carpet. You wouldn't think this would cost $270 a night

Dear Calisun77,
Thank you for your review. We apologize for any inconvenience you faced with your reservation dates. Our sheets are changed and washed every time between guests. Our housekeeping staff makes sure that they are clean when putting them on the bed. In addition, housekeepers clean the entire room thoroughly between guests.
Some of our rooms may be smaller than others, but in general, they are about the typical size for Manhattan hotel rooms. While $270 may seem like a lot for a hotel room, in New York City it can be a bargain. The rates change daily, but we always maintain very competitive rates and always include free amenities that you won’t find in other New York hotels, like breakfast, WIFI, and domestic phone calls.
We encourage you to give us another chance in the future.

12 of us spent 5 nights at the hotel @ times square and had a great time. The hotel is very clean, all staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was a good size and the location was excellent, in walking distance to times square and fifth avenue. Breakfast was a continental buffet but great selection and always replenished. There was also a coffee station in the hotel reception which you could just help yourself to at anytime.
We didn't go to the bar in the hotel but looked quite good.
