This brand new hotel makes you feel like you're in Miami, even though you're blocks away from Times Square. The design of the lobby and the rooms is gorgeous, very sleek. The staff is exceedingly pleasant, and very thoughtful -- the concierge even sent us a complimentary bottle of Prosecco to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. And despite having a nightclub next door, there didn't seem to be any troublesome noise; the walls are nicely insulated. The hot tubs and open-air courtyard are wonderful places to go and relax. All in all, a wonderful vacation spot. Thank you

Out NYC won't officially open until late June, so hopefully they will still be able to work out some kinks - the major one being the intolerable noise from the XL nightclub located on the first floor of the hotel. They apparently have some kind of "bass boom boom machine" that beats out nonstop from 10PM to 5AM (at least this happened this past Saturday April 21). By 2AM, my partner and I were pulling out our earplugs screaming and got the front desk to move us to another room, which was better, but by no means quiet. The big problem is that "boom-boom-boom" machine vibrates through the vary walls of the hotel. You hear it in the lobby, the hallways, the spa area and worst in the sleeping rooms. Management is well aware as they admitted to us at checkout that they are receiving constant complaints. Not sure I know what they can do except blow up that boom-boom device!

Otherwise, hotel was clean, very sleek/modern. Rooms are really small by NYC hotel standards. We had an executive king (which is one of their larger rooms) and you get a bed, couch and small counter top with mini-bar built in. Great big flat screen HDTV and very nice bathroom though.

Atmosphere unfortunately reminded us of a somewhat chic "gay bathhouse" experience, with guests roaming the spa area in towels, but without Bette Midler. Definitely not recommended for women and especially not straight clients!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on 3rd floor away from area above nightclub.

You are in the middle of NYC but you feel the vibes from Miami and other faraway places as well. The interior is luxurious, the staff more than friendly and the air makes you feel like a VIP.

Room Tip: If you party all night choose room 208.

I stayed at the OUT NYC during the week - Tuesday and Wednesday nights. The stay was very enjoyable. At the time, the hotel has been open for 1 month. The room (204N) was comfortable. The bed is probably the most comfortable hotel bed I have slept on in a while. The tv (which is web based) did not work when turned on. The attendant came to the room and quickly adjusted the situation. I enjoyed my stay. The only issue, the common area can be loud. The hotel does provide ear plugs. Another guest found it necessary to chat endlessly on his mobile. Possibly the OUT can highly suggest talking in the hotel room or designating a mobile chat AREA away from the room.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor, it may be quieter.

First impressions of this brand new hotel were great. Location good, design fantastic, and very helpful and genuinely nice staff. Our room....again nicely designed albeit compact, and overlooking a central court yard which seemed nice. We arrived on a Friday night, and after a long journey, decided to take it easy on our first night after a late dinner. Unfortunately our experience took a nose-dive all too very quickly.

It all started when we returned to our room that evening and the base from XL could be heard clearly. We'd requested a 'quiet' room, and were allocated a room towards the back of the hotel and presumed we'd be relatively noise free. Uh-uh...it wasn't just the base from downstairs...it was also the music being played in the courtyard. At 1am we could take no more and called reception asking if the music normally played all night in the courtyard, to which they politely and efficiently apologised for and turned off. Time for some sleep possibly, whilst the base from XL continued through our mattress? Uh-uh indeed...there was a seemingly endless chain of very loud, drunken guests returning to their rooms throughout the evening...and we are talking till 4.30am just after XL closes. It is so loud that the other guests could quite literally be in your room with you. Nice. At one stage, there was a group of 10 or so in the court yard screaming and yelling at the top of their voices. Sure...it sounded like they were having fun, but at 2am and showing zero consideration for fellow guests we were, quite frankly, getting rather pissed. There is CCTV throughout this hotel, and the night staff couldn't have missed this unless blind or possibly in XL themselves??

Quite probably just teething problems, but the carpets were washed directly out the front of our door between 5pm - 9pm on a Saturday evening...perhaps a peak-time one would expect for a hotel?

And finally, the construction of the 'bunk-style' rooms on the ground floor was very loud and frustrating on top of 'everything else'. Although the construction will, of course, be over one day, the noise from XL on the ground floor where these bunk-rooms are located would be tolerable in only two ways...being at the club itself or at least a block away.

Where to start with this hotel...? As soon as you enter you know this is a special place, and the staff knows it, too. Their attitude and attention to detail makes it obvious they love working there. Their standard rooms would be deluxe rooms at any other hotel, at well below the price that many mediocre hotels like to charge. The business center is convenient and free of charge. They have a great gym that is open 24 hours, a spa, jacuzzi, the works. Gay and straight alike stayed here during my short stay. It's hard to find boutique and affordable anywhere, much less in New York. I can't wait to go back.
