“Cronuts without the line!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2014

Ok, so they can't call them "cronuts." They call them "French donuts" instead, but they were still delicious to the last morsel. Best of all, there's no line for them. Tried to go to Dominique Ansel's place, got off the subway, and turned right around when I saw the line. But then here I was, walking down Broadway on a mini foodie tour between Zabar's and Fairway, took a peek inside this place, and there were raspberry and chocolate-filled cronuts... ahem, "French donuts" right in front of me! And it was something like 6PM too! Dominique Ansel's place sells out by 11AM. Of course it won't be quite as yummy at 6PM as in the morning when they're made, but it was still plenty yummy, even at 6PM. Just the fact that they even had it available at 6PM was a plus.

And yes, I did say this was Broadway. Apparently they now have two locations. I went to the one on Broadway at 77th. It just opened a week before, and I just happened to walk by. Talk about serendipity!

“Big flavor for such a tiny place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 4, 2014

The coffee is the best I ever drank. The pastry is tiny but packed with flavor. The sandwiches are delicious.

Although it is a new business, it's very busy.

“Lovely french pastries!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2013

I went in here for a morning snack and thought everything looked delicious. I was a bit spoilt for choice but thought i"d have the mille feuille as it was really what i went for. I went and sat and ate it in the park and it was really delicious.

“Great Macrons!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

Stumbled upon this bakery and made a pit to come back again before we left the city. The greatest pastries and the best Macrons I have ever had. Worth the trip.

“Great class, too”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013

They have the best pan au chocolate, croissants, brioche, and mille feuille I have ever had. Including Paris. All the deserts there are ethereal. You can take a croissant class which is amazing fun and incredibly informative. The chef/owner used to work for Pierre Herme in Paris, but he has surpassed his master
