“A real find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2013

We stumbled across this excellent place after doing the usual touristy things. The food is excellent, the service was very good and the mix of customers made for a good atmosphere.

“An awesome find. Can't believe there are not more reviews.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2012

I stumbled across Koyzina Kafe when walking by from my hotel. What an awesome place. Obviously the locals in the Financial District know about this place because it was very crowded.

There's a counter with all kinds of sandwiches and prepared salads that looked delicious. But I had the "build your own" salad. A salad bar with tons of fresh vegetables, cheeses and meats that an attendant puts together in a silver mixing bowl and tosses with your choice of dressing. The ingredients were all super fresh and the Asian ginger dressing was outstanding.

All for a very reasonable price. My new favorite downtown place for a casual, quick, cheap lunch!

“Great Breakfast in the Financial District”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2012

On William Street, across from One Chase Manhattan Plaza, resides a small but welcoming courtyard, an oasis in a jungle of densely packed office and other commercial buildings. On the courtyard's north side sits a gourmet coffee and pastry shop. For breakfast, however, I've come to love Koyzina Kafe. This traditional, no-frills Greek deli borders the courtyard's south side, just north of and on the same block as Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Upon most recently visiting Koyzina (December 2011), I delightfully found it open and quiet on a Saturday morning. Weekdays the place bustles with activity, especially during morning commuting time.

In a rectangular, unadorned space, Koyzina Kafe serves anything one could possibly want for breakfast. Crave a traditional hot breakfast, for example, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, pancakes, etc.? Head to the restaurant's open kitchen toward the rear. A bagel station in the middle of the space showcases plump, freshly baked bagels that friendly, efficient servers will prepare to one's preference (e.g., toasted) and topped with a variety of choices. Toward the front may be found many other items. Highlights include oversized, homemade muffins; thick, creamy yogurt parfaits both plain and mixed with berries or other fruit; and whole fresh fruits. Upon paying for your purchases at the front counter, don't forget the piping hot coffee offered in three sizes.

The pricing for all these items? Very reasonable given the quality, portions, and location.

Koyzina Kafe provides ample self-seating, pleasant for enjoying a morning newspaper with breakfast. However, most customers (primarily office workers) carry out their purchases.

Koyzina Kafe has become one of my essential destinations when in Manhattan's financial district. It also serves lunch.
