This is a combo cafeteria style and deli in one. The food is good, you can get in and out fast, and the kids can pick their own food from the buffet. You can also order hot and cold sandwiches from the deli or grab a salad from the salad bar. The best part is it is so affordable. $9 per person for lunch in Manhattan?! Yup!! We were running a bit late for our 1pm show at Radio City and were able to get in and out in 30mins.

City 75. Usually crowded, with very few, small cafe tables available, City 75 is an excellent deli restaurant for great food for an outdoor picnic on Rockefeller Plaza. (No table service; you choose the food and pay at the register.) Go before 1:15 p.m. if you want to get the grilled salmon--it's delish and goes fast! Love the roasted vegetables (mushrooms, peppers, carrots, sweet potatoes, onions) too--they are not ruined with too much garlic, salt or pepper as some restaurants might do. Every day they have also an Italian dish or two, like lasagna; chicken nuggets; mac'n'cheese; soups (ask at the carving counter); and a few Asian dishes (teriyaki vegetables, noodle dishes).

The location is perfect when you are visiting Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral or SAKS Fifth Avenue and are tired of being forced to overspend on basic, good food. This is where many local business people get their lunches and stroll the plaza for an outdoor seat for people-watching. If it is raining, you can get lunch here, then head to the Rock Center concourse to find a table (N.B. This can be challenging). Dollar for dollar, lunch at City 75 will likely cost less than at any of the Rock Center concourse restaurants; and you won't have to wait as long in line.

Unfortunately, they do charge a lot for water, soda, vitamin drinks ($2+). That's too much. Suggest going to the grocery store for your drinks, and then trying City 75 for fresh, good salads, soups and entrees.

Every year at Christmastime, my wife and I visit New York City and enjoy the special Christmas atmosphere. Our visit would not be complete without lunch at City 75 deli. Amazing sandwiches, salad bar, and even desserts are available at a reasonable cost. I enjoyed the "New Yorker;" lean pastrami, corned beef, and swiss cheese with cole slaw and dressing on rye. My wife enjoyed a turkey & swiss cheese sandwich. Sandwiches are typically $5 to $6, very reasonable for an area where $18 hamburgers are not uncommon. There is an upstairs dining area where you may be able to sit at a table for two overlooking the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.
This is a great place for lunch any time of the year; a little crowded at lunch time, for obvious reasons. I can't comment on the table service, simply because we've never used it. Like most patrons, we hop on the deli line, order our sandwiches, and pick up drinks, chips etc. on the way to the cashier.
