Red Farm had just opened its new UWS location the week before we went for brunch, but the food and service were still praiseworthy. The owner was busily overseeing all parts of the operation and not only helped seat us and countless others, but checked in with us during our meal to make sure that all was well. And it was. The dishes we ordered were lovely, including their special pac man dumplings, bacon and egg fried rice, and spicy crispy beef. If I have any suggestion for this place, it would be to add a few more vegetarian and fresh-food options to the menu for balance, but no complaints otherwise.

I love this place. Modern Chinese cuisine, set in a small bar downstairs with a noisy but happy atmosphere. The food is excellent, and so is the service. Long life noodles with crab is delish and spring rolls were to die for. a must visit, even if you dont like modern chinese!

This busy West Village restaurant mixes great food, quick service and buzzing atmosphere to create a memorable experience.

Great restaurant, we would go back but there a few issues to highlight.We tried this restaurant after reading reviews on it. It is not your typical Chinese restaurant. It had a great buzz and was very atmospheric. We picked it also because we didn't need a reservation. We waited approx.10 mins to be seated at the small bar(we would have had to wait an hour plus for a sharing table). Front of house staff were very efficient on a busy Saturday night.
At the bar our order was taken by the bartender, who for the rest of our time was busy making cocktails and really never engaged with us.
We ordered the chilli beef starter which was delicious. We also had the "pac man" dumplings on the bartenders suggestion as he felt sharing a starter wouldn't be enough. They were nice but it really was too much food. We were sorry we didn't stick to just the beef starter. We also heard him suggesting them to the people beside us when they were ordering. A bit pushy.
Our mains were the Lamb with Chinese broccoli and white asparagus and the duck fried rice dish. We had to order rice separately for the lamb dish. The duck dish was very dry but tasty.
We had a bottle of Malbec with dinner. The total cost was 129 dollars excluding tip!!
We enjoyed the whole experience and would recommend going to this restaurant.

I love the pork and crab soup dumplings at Red Farm - delicious! I also recommend the Katz's pastrami egg roll.

The wait for a table during dinner hours can be kind of crazy - I recommend trying bunch on the weekends.
