We were looking for a pizza place close to our hotel with some inside seating. Being Friday during Lent we were looking for a no meat dinner. Our hotel staff recommended Luigi's and we were so glad they did! We walked in and all the front tables were full. There are maybe 6-8 tables so it is not a big place. The man behind the counter asked how many. When we said 3 he showed us to a small booth in the back. We had cesar salad and pizza. The salads were large. The pizza was awesome. On the table are shakers of cheese, garlic, and pepper. This is obviously a popular spot with the locals as many were popping in on their way home from work to place orders and take them to go as well as they had many deliveries going out. That is always a good sign. Everyone was very friendly and we didn't realize it was "place your order at the counter, get your food and sit down" . They served us while handling a stream of walk-in customers. They didn't say "Hey, that's not how we do it. You need to come up and get your food". When we figured it out we felt a little bad so we left a nice tip. We also decided they deserved out repeat business. We stopped in 2 more times during our trip for a slice or two. This will definately be on our itinerary for any future trips to NYC and we will happily send any visiting friends their way. Note- they do not sell alcohol only soft drinks. With great food and service we didn't care.
