This hostel have good location near subway. I was there with group of friends. Dorms are very simply furnished.
Nothing special however for that price it was fine. I liked the view from roof of the hostel.

Me and a friend are doing a 4 month travel and so far this is the worst hostel we have stayed at!! You are paying way to much for what you're actually getting, I believe it's just expensive because its near Central Park but in the dodge area. We have been here for 6 nights and with in that stay they have not changed our sheets or changed our towels, the rooms are insanely hot which really doesn't help when the beds you are staying on our not up to standards, I found rocks in Central Park more comfy! And just to top this lovely experience off one of the managers was hitting on us the entire time, he would touch us say inappropriate things and tried to get us to go to the beach which was an hour out with him and three friends of his that we had never met! I was scared he was gonna come into our room at night and watch us!! Lets just say I was so happy to check out and go somewhere else. Would advise everyone not to stay here!!!

The hostel was dirty, there was blood in the girls bathroom for the whole 6 days of my stay plus the duvet covers were not changed between each persons checkout. The beds were very uncomfortable. I have stayed in many hostels and couldn't believe how bad this place was. It was such a rip off for your money at £35/night.

Room Tip: There are no good rooms!!

Great location, out of busyness but close to everything. Subway close by, food shopping easy, Central park and Museums on doorstep. BUT.......staff need to be staff and not just attend desk or sit and chat up patrons, breakfast maker could say hello and be friendly, reception could give you advise on check in, cleaners could clean!!!!! Fantastic facilities, NYC cheap as chips, this place could be so much better.

Room Tip: Pick private or two person room. Ask for 1st or 2nd floor.

Stayed here for 1 night in June 2012. Arrived from JFK by the airtrain and subway which is just round the corner from this hostel. Fare was about $2.50. Hostel room clean, was sharing a bunk room with 1 other female. No lockers in room, just 1 hanging rail. Towels, mirror and sink were provided in the room. Breakfast in the dining area was charged at an additional cost of about $6 per night which I thought was a little expensive when you can walk down the streets next to the hostel early morning for a coffee and snack. Stayed at a different hostel when i finished my trip back in NY 3 weeks later and would stay there again over this hostel.

Well located for Central Park, not so for anything else. Very little atmosphere. We stayed in a two bed dorm which consisted of a bunk bed, this was fine. The only problem I had were that the bathrooms and showers were at the other end of the floor, I ended up just using the mens facilities. We only stayed here for one night and probably wouldn't stay here again.
