Came here because of the SITC shows so we expected too much perhaps.
Cupcakes were ok and coffee ordinary. Could do with a revamp.

Magnolia Bakery is beautiful and all the cakes, cookies, cupcakes and pies are exquisite! There's a terrific ambiance in there! No Places to sit, so swing by and pick up your sweets for an outdoor treat (or stand at the Little counter) Something for everyone!

I found this bakery by chance . I love keylime pie it is my very favorite dessert ever . They have a keylime cheesecake that is the greatest thing since apple pie. They also have a blueberries crunch dessert that also very good. Go there there so much to enjoy . They have shops all over the city. If you don't you are missing out on some really great treats.

We slipped into the line for Magnolia, which wasn't much more crowded than the street itself. It didn't take us long to be ushered into the bakery. Memories of a previous visit to the branch just north of Lincoln Center bounced around our heads - delicate, soft cupcake cake, light frosting.

Clutching our prize, we exited the bakery, tore open the box, and hungrily dug into our chosen flavors. But wait, what's going on? Could these be day-olds? Did their cooking timer break? The cupcake was somewhat dry, more so than Stop and Shop or other food stores. The top was actually chewy. The frosting was heavy, not delicate. The only saving grace were the flavors, which were good, but not outstanding.

Perhaps this was a problem with this particular branch. Or that particular day. Either way, someone should be watching the quality control, or Georgetown Cupcakes or Crumbs will push them aside, and they will go the way of Ray's Pizza, a chain serving food which is a mere shadow of what used to be. Average is not good enough.

I tried this bakery in a journey during the Labor Day weekend. Me and my girlfriend have found it on the 6th avenue and decided to try Magnolia cupcakes. What a great idea! Cupcakes were very delicious and also not much expensive.
Try it!
