Looking for a show that will entertain, then this is the one to see.
It is loaded with satire, jokes, truths, half truths, foul language galore, human issues and so much more.

You gotta start with the obvious: This show isn't for everybody. Anyone who is easily offended will be. Anyone who is very religious will be uncomfortable and may actually enjoy it, but I wouldn't count on it. Anyone who is offended by graphic and profane ideas like having sex with babies or frogs, blaspheming God, using the Mormon Church as an example for ridicule, or the fluent use of the "f" word, the typical homosexual-laden cast and progressive Broadway ideas, probably won't think it's as good as most of the audience. Those who prepare themselves to be confused and wondering if they should laugh at or enjoy such prior to buying their tickets will do themselves a big favor. The musical is worthy of being enjoyed and considered.

You need to have an open mind to get into this musical. The music, while rather ordinary, is very intelligently executed and the performances are convincing and touching. The modern Broadway orchestra consists of a few musicians convincingly doubling on several instruments and lacks the power of a full orchestra, but the arrangements are clever and come off without a hitch. The cast was quite good and the energy was impressive. The story line, predictably, deals with testing one's faith and questioning the place of religion and tolerance in the world, and I can't remember ever being moved more concerning such a profound and difficult topic. It was powerful. The song, "I Believe" is destined to be one of the great Broadway songs of history.

I consider myself quite open-minded and am a professional musician. Me and my wife, who are both religious, enjoyed the show immensely. It delivered in nearly every way possible. I recommend sitting in the orchestra center if you can afford it. Otherwise, go for the mezzanine center. You'll be glad you spent a couple hundred bucks per ticket more to get a better seat. It does make a difference.

Most offensive play ever.... Profane, Disgusting, using the F word in the same sentence with God or babies just doesn't qualify as entertainment. I would not go to see this again if I had front row, FREE tickets! I don't understand what people see in this show.

This show is a must!
The theatre itself was built in 1925 and is every inch a Broadway Theatre. It's capacity of about 1100 makes every seat in the house ideal for enjoying a show.

The Book of Mormon is one of the funniest musicals, but also one of the most irreverent, I have ever had the pleasure to watch. The cast, and it is quite large, all produce excellent performances.

Without trying to give the plot away it concerns a group of Mormon Missionaries sent to Uganda to convert the locals. What actually transpires is quite hilarious.

The one question I have about the show is wondering what the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints had to say about it when it opened. I suspect they would not be all that happy.

Don't think I would take children to the show as the language is, well, a bit salty!
