“Very happy of the choice”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

I booked 2 nights in this hotel located in the 32nd st.just 2 minutes to 5th av.The room was clean and quit big to be located in this area.Price at this time was very good, because for the quality of the hotel, less than 200 euro (per night)is almost impossible to find in Ny.Breakfast included (a choice of donuts ,bread, fruits available to eat.)In the mezzanine from Lobby and 1st floor coffe-the-chocolate for free available for guests 24 hours. Finally, after so many times in NYC I was satisfied for the chosen.

Good value. Location near Macy's. very slow elevators. Not a lot of choice for restaurants as location in Korea town. Lobby ok. Continental breakfast ok, busy room. Easy walk to garment district. Room size decent for NYC.

Room Tip: Ask for a room off the street and away from ice machine

Three weeks prior to our trip to NY we called the hotel directly for a four night stay. However, we arrived a day early so I booked the first of the five nights thru booking.com The first night was booked thru booking.com and were put in a SMOKING room which I did not request! It was on the 4th floor and we could hear every car horn and every person on the street talking...grrr The remaining 4 nights that were booked directly at NYMA hotel was wonderful. We were on the 15th floor in a mini suite and it was wonderful! Clean, quite and well kept and not much of a difference in price!
The continental breakfast was ok. A great way to start the morning. Not much seating and if you came after 9:30....there was a chance that you were not going to get fresh bakery! 3 out of the 5 days we did not. The elevators are really slow! The staff was friendly. They have parking up the block which was $30.00 a night. We only used it one night. The subway is right at the corner. I would highly recommend a Metro card for getting around. Very easy to use and understand. If you but a subway ride oneway it is $2.75 each. After the one day we figured it out and bought a longer metro card which was cheaper.
Would I stay here again? Yes! I would call the hotel directly and ask for a room on a higher floor. I think the hotel went to 18 floors.
Two blocks away from the Empire State bldg and and everything was centrally located!

Room Tip: Try to stay on a higher room....above the 12th floor and request a no smoking room.

Dear Toreybugs,
Thank you for your review. We’re sorry that you got a smoking room on your first night. This was an error and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We continually keep our breakfast room well stocked throughout the duration of breakfast service. We apologize if you could not find anything fresh after 9:30. The elevators can get a bit held up during busy hours of the day, especially in the mornings as guests are leaving for the day or going to breakfast. We apologize for any inconvenience.
We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again soon!

Came up to explore Manhattan this weekend and stayed at the NYMA. The location & the price are the two real selling points for this hotel. It's in a great central location, not far from the Lincoln Tunnel, and there is a Central Parking Garage is 1 block away. The hotel room itself is adequate & clean. I only used the room to shower and sleep, so I wasn't looking for luxury. The staff was helpful and nice. They offer breakfast and coffee in the morning. All in all, I liked the place and will stay here again on future visits.

This hotel was booked upon a friends recommendation and it was a great choice. Just around the corner from the Empire State Building and an easy walk to Times Square. The subway at either end of the block. Staff were very helpful. The free breakfast was useful but the room is very tiny so don't expect a seat.

Stayed for 2 nights. This is a good central location and reasonably close to Penn Station (1/2 mile) and handy for the subway. Overall it was small and drab - ok for somehere to sleep , but not somewhere you would want to spend much time. The breakfast room was crowded so we struggled to find a place to sit and the choice of food was very limited.
