I had booked 2 queen rooms (for 2 couples) for 2 nigths... When we arrived to the hotel they tell us that there was an error and the only solution could be to share a room with 2 queen beds. We had a bad night and they didn't compensate with anything. After this bad experience, the next night we had a beautiful room with sights to Empire State. The Breakfast was fantastic and all very clean. I could repeat but I would call before to be sure that my book is correct

My wife and I stayed here 7 nights in September of 2012. The check-in was quick, the room was clean and larger than I expected. The bed was great, the air conditioning worked well, and the staff was friendly.

We really liked that its location 1 block South of the Empire State Building gave us a great landmark to gauge our location while sightseeing around the city. There are Korean restaurants very close, a bakery next door, an ice cream place across the street. Around the corner there's a really good pizza place. Penn Station is 3 blocks away.

It's a 16 story building and we did find the 2 elevators could get slow during busy hours. The breakfast area is small and usually crowded, although clean and well maintained. The continental breakfast is not their best feature but is adequate and the coffee was really good. If you want a better breakfast, feel free to pay big dollars elsewhere ;)

The hotel is a great value for Manhattan. We would definitely stay here again.

Dear OfWisconsin,
Thank you for your kind review. We hope you and your wife had a great time exploring New York City. We are sorry that you were not pleased with the breakfast area or selection. We have a small space with some extra tables and chairs off to the side of the main breakfast area for spillover. We also try to provide our guests with as much variety in selections as possible.
We look forward to welcoming you on your next visit to New York City.

The location was perfect, a short walk to the Empire State Building. We could always tell where we were in relation to the Empire State Building, so getting our bearings was easy throughout the city. We had room 1203, with great views of the Empire State Building. We gave our cab driver the address at the airport, but he had problems with it wanting "more" once we got closer. The hotel was quite near to the corner of 32nd and 5th, so if you have problems try that, which is what we used at night taking cabs home after Broadway shows. We walked to many attractions that were near by, and usually took the subway to farther destinations. Pen Station is close by for that. There is also a hop on off bus ticket area in front of the Empire State building. The hotel was full the week we were there, but we barely heard or saw other guests. The breakfast room was the only time the hotel space felt full, but there is a separate breakfast room across the hall from the main area where breakfast is. My husband and I usually ate there alone or with one or two business travelers, so try it out for some peace over your morning coffee. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was very clean and quite with a wonderfully comfortable bed!

Room Tip: 1203 had great views of the Empire State Building.

This hotel is excellent value for money compared to other hotels in central Manhattan.
Very clean, and good continental breakfast. Have given everything 5 stars. There is no lounge or bar, but if all you want is a good, clean, safe hotel to sleep in, this one fits the bill. Staff on the Tourist Information desk in the lobby were very knowledgeable and helpful.

i spent 2 nights here at the start of sept 2012. the location is midtown, beside a lot of korean restaurants.it is close to macys and surrounding shops. our check in was quick which i am keen on, as checking in late and you will be tired. stayed on 6th floor, although at times the elevator takes ages to arrive. the room was a typical hotel room with basic amentie;fridge, tv, etc. it also had an iphone/ipod charger which i used and thought was a nice touch. the hotel itself was quiet at night although i could hear a loud noise from outside all night which is aparently from construction work on 5th who work 24hrs a day. out room was outlooking the front, no view of anything. the bathroom was nice. the shower had different power functions. would like to see hair conditioner aswell as shampoo provided as i had to run across the street to a local drugstore to buy one at night. beds were comfy. breakfast was medicore. could do with improvement, though good selection of fruit. didn't think pasteries were that fresh. had no croissants the 2nd morn even though it was still early in the morn. really didnt like the breakfast room. it is far too small. although there is another room all that as available was high stools, no good for anyone older.overalll not bad at all.

My wife and I stayed 28th Aug for 5 nights . Very highly recommended. Head and shoulders above size and quality of more expensive NYC hotels. Great bed and air con. Plenty of room for cases and relaxing after pounding the streets on 90 degree heat !
Don't knock the breakfast - enough to keep you stocked up until lunch time - even although it's all paper plates and cups. Clean room and bathroom. Pleasant staff.Free Wi - Fi and and free local and long distance US calls. I have two sisters in Florida - saved a bit on long distance calls. Will return again.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The Good: great location - (2 mins from The Empire State Building, 10 min walk from Penn Station and Macys, 20 min walk to Times Square, 30 min walk to Central Park), clean and considering the location, very quiet room, fairly small, but you don't spend a lot of time in your room anyway! Free wifi excellent. Free breakfast - slightly chaotic and busy, but good selection. Free computers to use in reception with free printing which was handy.

The Bad: lifts were incredibly busy and slow. As I was on the 9th floor, I used the stairs at busy periods (mainly during breakfast). Overall, would definitely recommend, you can't beat the location, and price was very reasonable for mid August in NYC.

Dear EmmaBorer,
Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you had fun in New York City. We are sorry that the elevators were slow and that you had to use the stairs sometimes. We hope this did not inconvenience you. The elevators do tend to get very busy during breakfast hours as a significant number of our guests utilize it at the same time.
We hope to welcome you again on your next trip to New York City.
