The second floor reading room was the answer to a busy day with great coffee, water, snacks, and a glass of wine later if you wish. All employees were cheerful offering assistance as needed. We will return.

Very good hotel.
Good location, nice size rooms, nice ambience.
I liked the common room where breakfast (not great but included) and snacks were available all the time. The wine and cheese reception is a nice touch.
I recommend this hotel, it just doesn't come cheap, but considering that you have access to food and drinks and that it has a great feeling, while most NY hotels are just too impersonal, you might consider it worth it

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. The rooms aren’t the biggest however they are lovely and all have different themes. The turn down service has them turn on some jazz for you with is a nice touch when arriving back at the end of the night. The free wine and cheese each evening is a nice touch although my colleagues told me the wine was pretty cheap tasting although the processco was better. Staff were always very helpful and attentive. I would stay again if there for work.

This is a great hotel in a great location for 'doing' Manhattan. It's charming with it being boutique and cool due to the book theme running throughout. And it's pretty good browsing through the books in your own room.

Although it's located on Madison Avenue it's surprisingly free from all the midtown madness, which you can see as you tuck into your breakfast or snacks in the Reading Room. And you can catch a glimpse of the Empire State Building from the cute roof top terrace.

The only teeny-weeny niggle is that that our room was a bit dark and the TV was a bit too high, which is why I'm giving four and not five stars. Sorry.

Finally, the staff are excellent and we'd just like to give a 'shout-out' to Billy for being so entertaining and helpful.

Hello K_The_Tourist,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re happy to see that you have enjoyed your stay with us. Although we are located in the “madness” of midtown, we try to offer a very peaceful, tranquil atmosphere to combat all of New York’s hustle and bustle; we’re glad this shined through. We will make sure to give a ‘shout-out’ to Billy, who has been a great member of our team for a long time. He, along with all of our Guest Service Agents, try very hard to be helpful and brighten up the date of all of our guests. We hope to see you again very soon.

Kindly,
Justin Scimeme

It was our 4th stay at this beautiful boutique hotel & once again we were not disappointed. All the staff are amazing & accommodating & we refer to the Library Hotel as our New York home away from home. The location is fantastic & being around the corner from grand central terminal is helpful when catching the subway everywhere which is quicker than catching a taxi. Breakfast & nightly wine & cheese are great...special thanks to all the lovely ladies that served us throughout our long stay. Madison & Vine restaurant downstairs is also good & consistent as we decided to eat there numerous times. Overall a big thank you to all the wonderful friendly staff who helped make our trip so special. Until next time..

Hello TanT589,

Thank you for your thoughtful words on the hotel. We’re overjoyed that we are your home away from home, as we love to consider our guests as part of our family. Our second floor Reading Room attendants are just amazing, and we are so happy to hear that they, along with everyone else on the staff, tended to all of your needs and helped make your trip special. We are looking forward to welcoming you back very soon!
