We stayed at the Library Hotel for a week from May 20 - May 27 for our wedding / honeymoon. We had seen the glowing reviews on TripAdvisor & we were NOT disappointed.

First of all the location is amazing. So close to Grand Central station - everything is easily accessible. We stayed in a junior suite on the 10th floor & we had amazing views of both the New York Public Library up the street & all the way down Madison Avenue.

The accommodation itself is lovely - the bed was huge & really, really comfortable. The furnishings are beautiful & the bathroom was great. The nightly turndown service with weather report & chocolates on the bedside table was terrific.

The breakfast each morning was delicious - cereals, bagels, boiled eggs, pastries, fruit, juice & espresso coffee. Delicious! A tip for future guests.... we found the breakfast room was much quieter before 830am, We woke up late on 2 mornings & the place was packed after 9am but they gave us a tray & we had our breakfast on the rooftop terrace. We only took advantage of the wine & cheese afternoons twice but they were great. A great opportunity to socialise with fellow guests & the cheeses, biscuits & wines were lovely.

We received excellent service from all the staff at the Library Hotel. They were so welcoming & nothing was too much trouble. Our favourite was Adrian though! He was the first to greet us when we arrived on Sunday afternoon & showed us to our room. He explained all the ins & outs of the mini bar, tv, safe etc. He was always super friendly & easy to talk to - up for a chat & willing to give recommendations & advice whenever we saw him. He also hailed us cabs with confidence & ease. We actually missed him on his days off!!

The Library Hotel isn't cheap but in my opinion provides excellent value for money when you consider everything it has to offer. If we're ever back in the big apple, we will definitely be staying here again. Hopefully Adrian still works there if & when we do get back there!

Room Tip: Try to get to breakfast before 830 - 9am as it's much quieter.

My family (husband and wife, a three year old and one year old and grandmother) stayed at the Library hotel for 6 nights a couple of weeks ago and I can not recommend this hotel enough. It has a fantastic location, the rooms are clean and comfortable and gorgeously decorated and the service impeccable. They organised Broadway tickets for us with a couple of days notice and we got 5th row centre, recommended great local restaurants and made my children feel very welcome. The breakfast and wine and cheese in the reading room are a really nice touch. I will definitely be staying here again on return to NY.

Room Tip: Families, should look into the Queen Deluxe and Suite connecting rooms.

We stayed here for a 5 day vacation to the big apple. This place was wonderful! The daily wine and cheese reception combined with the location were the two big perks here. Lots of character, too. And the service was exceptional. Definitely a great place.

We stayed at the Library for a week in May and it turned out to be a perfect choice. The Queen-rooms are cosy, spacious enough and although looking out on 41th St. kept the city noise away. Most of all we enjoyed the friendly service and the possibility to relax at the lounge in the afternoon with wine and cheese. Other clear Pros are the nice included breakfast, the central location near Grand Central Station and the roof-top bar an 14th floor.
We will definitely come again.

Just an overnight stay with my wife and adult daughter while in town for an art show. The staff were all wonderful, courteous, and helpful. The hotel was spotless and the decor delightful. The 14th floor rooftop patio was great and offered a secluded and quiet view on the busy city. The continrntal breakfast and wine and cheese services were excellent and a real treat. The location couldn't be beat - withing view of the New York Public Library and close to Broadway and everything mid-town. Our room was neat as a pin and with all the anticipated ammenities. Parking was discounted at a garage two blocks away. Didn't get the chance to enjoy it but I understand guests are welcome at a local athletic club. My wife and I are librarians to boot!

Room Tip: Our suite (306 - "law") offered a big queen bed with an added sleeper sofa and large windo...

The Library Hotel was everything 3 girls could ask for in the Big Apple. The location is perfect (1 block over from 5th Ave.) and within walking distance to central park and many other attractions. But what made it for us was the service: every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful and the front desk staff went above an beyond. We were looking for a true New York experience, so we had asked a few of the staff for some dinner and night life suggestions that they themselves had been to/would recommend and were provided with lists of suggestions along with personal stories :). It made for the best experience as we were able to see New York outside the normal "tourist" areas. The rooms were also beautful with all the amenities. And the awesome included continental breakfast (with delicious New York Bagels) and evening wine and cheese just added icing to the cake. The perfect hotel for a low key big city experience. Can't wait to stay there again!

Room Tip: Rooms are all one king bed except for the suites, were we stayed, and have a pull out couch. Suites...
