Pros:
Great Location - Right near subway, Starbucks across the road (closes in the evening though), Convenience store right across the street. Not too crowded.

Cons:
Small rooms as stated in the other reviews, but its NYC so you will be out most of the day. Also the air con is loud but after a whole day of walking, you will mostly be super tired and will be able to sleep anyway.

Hallways are also narrow. Fresh towels supplied every day. We were on 1st floor and Wifi was very good. Breakfast was basic but fresh.

Wouldn't mind staying here again if I was in NYC!

We were delighted to be able to get in our room at 10AM!!The lobby is attractive and comfortable area where you can rest while waiting for your room. After a red eye, we were exhausted and needed to rest. THANK YOU ! We stayed in room 605.Very comfy bed, clean ,and all we needed. It was small (but all the rooms in NY City are small unless you want to spend $$$$$) Just don't take huge suitcases(will be hard to maneuver in the small hallways and rooms. The breakfast was a plus with super friendly attendant ready to honor your hot waffle requests:) They also have cookies and pastries in the PM. A nice surprise. 1 block from 28th st. subway.(green line 6) There's deli/bakery on next block...recommend their pizza...inexpensive and yummy. Also, ate at California pizza Kitchen and were very pleased with the food and prices. (Warning...don't eat at Assolinas across the street unless you want to pay 150. for 2 like we did!!) We highly recommend this hotel for those who want affordable, clean, friendly, convenient location for their NY sightseeing.

Room Tip: 605 was a large enough room with a very comfy bed.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days/4 nights in June 2012. We knew from the reviews here that
we could expect small rooms, but were still a bit surprised at the tiny size of our room. The bed just fit in and the tv took almost the full size of a wall.

Having said that, the room was very clean, although a bit worn at some points. Airco was available, but didn't work. Bathroom was clean as well. Towels were changed every day, or whenever you wanted.

Wifi was available for free throughout the hotel.

Breakfast was very basic: croissants, etc... were packed in plastic but waffles were freshly baked every morning.

The hotel is very conveniently located somewhere southeast of Empire State Building (10mins walk) and Times Square (15mins walk).

If you want a basic, affordable and clean hotel, this could be what you are looking for.

The location is terrific, but so is every Manhattan hotel. Among all the Manhattan hotels I have stayed in (more than 10), this is the worst BY FAR. The room was smaller than hotels in Japan. There was no shower pressure. The TV was in Spanish, and the guy refused to do anything to fix it (I had skipped out of dinner with friends at my conference to watch a Lakers game). The air conditioner was mounted on a wall at ceiling height, away from the bed, and there was nothing to climb on, so you would have to stand on the edge of the bed and try to peer at/guess at the controls.

Overall, this was the second worst hotel I have every stayed in, and the worst value for money I can remember in a long long time (they charged more than $200 a night).

Room Tip: Stay on a lower floor (if you absolutely can't find a room in another hotel). The elevator is slow, and water pressure is very bad on higher floors.
