Hotel Chandler was the perfect location for me and my two daughters to visit NYC for the first time. Everyone was very helpful; we especially liked Fabio and Matt the two doormen and all around helpers. Our room was very clean and quiet; two absolute musts! The room service always replaced our towels during turn down which was really great because NYC was having a heat wave and we showered off often!!
I would not stay anywhere else!
I also would recommend having breakfast on the run and not in the hotel; a bit pricey. I prefer a quick walk towards the Empire State Building where there are lots of options.
I did not mind the humming of the air conditioner; better to be cooler than very very hot. I sleep well with that hum. Although we were on the 3rd floor, it was quiet. They put us at the back of the hotel, not on the street side.
NIce place for a busy city!

Great location and lovely hotel, but what made the biggest difference was the helpfulness and courteousness of the entire staff. VERY helpful, warm and accommodating. A WONDERFUL experience for our entire family. Highly recommended.

I've stayed at the Chandler several times. It has a great location and it's not hard to walk to shopping, Broadway and great restaurants. The service is very helpful. The rooms have nice touches (huge towels and nice robes) but are very tiny, even by NYC standards. The air conditioning can get noisy. It will be nice when there's a restaurant in-house.

An ideal spot in Manhattan, perfect for the Empire State Building, 5th Avenue and Maceys.
Very friendly staff, comfortable bed and very clean. Would recommend to any one wanting a city break. Only negative, the air conditioning was a little noisy.

My husband and I stayed here because it wa a couple of blocks away from a friend's place. Turned out to be very convenient because w could actually walk to the Empire State Building. We went up for a Mets game and fit more than expected in this overnight stay. The hotel is also close to a Heartland Brewery. The hotel staff were very accommodating and knowledgeable. Because the hotel was so close to the Empire State Building we were able to walk and get there before tha crowds came by? Overall we were very happy with our experience staying here.

Hotel Chandler was in the perfect location as far as we were concerned. Turning left out the hotel takes you to 5th Avenue and if you look right, the Empire State is right in front of you. Walking to times square is easy and takes maybe 10 to 15 minutes and there is a nearby metro on 33rd Street. Because the hotel was being tidied up in some areas (not that we saw any work at all and weren't inconvenienced) we were offered free wine and snacks every night between about 5.30pm and 7? This was most welcome when we arrived back after a day sightseeing!! The hotel staff were excellent and really helpful when we needed some help on locations etc. There is free coffee and tea at all times (coffee was superb) and again this was good when you were going out or coming in. There is a little place around the corner (on 5th Avenue) where you can get rolls, fresh fruit, bagels etc at a really good price and so we got our breakfast there and took it back to the room before we went out. All the locals use it so it must be good! The room we had was fine, two double beds as we had a 15 year old with us, and we were provided with new towels every day and the maid service was excellent. Again, when we were checking out we had no hassle and were helped into our hired mini van by the hotel staff with cases etc etc. My wife unfortunately left her brand new Ralph Lauren sunglasses around the reception area at check out and although I've e mailed the hotel, I haven't heard anything back yet about them being handed in. So if the hotel staff read this ...... Anyway, if we return to New York we will definitely be booking up at the Chandler again, it was ideal in all aspects. Enjoy .......

Joined Small Luxury Hotels of the World about 4 months ago and had our first stay in a member hotel in UK last week b4 travelling to NYC. Advisory on SLHW WEB SITE says auto room upgrade and complementary breakfast after one nights stay in member hotel. On check in late at Chandler Monday I asked if this was the case and was told nothing doing as we did not qualify. Emailed SLHW and asked for confirmation which arrived Tuesday am. Showed this to concierge and b'fast agreed to but no upgrade available yet hotel not full. Only disappointment really as hotel is lovely and very well situated and room is nice but small and and staff are very accommodating. Will possibly stay here again
