Our second visit to the Hotel Chandler was as good as the first. This "boutique" hotel is tastefully and "crisply" decorated (not fussy) and spotlessly clean throughout...lobby, elevators, library and guest rooms. The staff was consistently vigilant, friendly and helpful. Check in and out were easy. The location is wonderful...near the subways but not in the midst of the crowds. Cabs were plentiful if needed. The restaurant is being added....maybe completed late Spring? We've been accustomed to staying at different hotels each visit to NYC but we plan on booking here on our future trips.

Dear Italy008,

We are so happy that you enjoyed your second stay with us as much as your first. I wanted to inform you that our restuarant Juni is due to open this Spring - by end April early May - and will feature Executive Chef Shaun Herggat's striking presentations. The cuisine will be sourced from local organic farms.

We certainly hope you will be able to experience Juni on your next visit.
We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future,

Sincerely,
Kate Martin

Such a lovely, boutique hotel, with welcoming staff who seem genuinely interested in your well-being. The room was very comfortable and spacious, with a very attractive bathroom. Toiletries (Molton Brown) are regularly replenished - which doesn't always happen in other establishments, sadly. Coffee, tea etc are available in the lobby 24/7 (and nobody minds if you nip down in your pyjamas to grab a cup. We didn't do that by the way; just witnessed others...) Murray Hill was the perfect area for us as we didn't wan't to be in anywhere too noisy . It's just a step to the Empire State Building, Flatiron, Times Square etc, but has its own individual flavour. We were so pleased with the comfort, size, value for money, situation. Couldn't find any faults!

Room Tip: We had a 'superior' double, with twin queen-size beds.

It was not the first trip to New York for me while first for my father so I did search carefully to select the best possible hotel to stay and can immediately tell that we made the “right” choice. I did send a letter to the hotel few days prior to arrival asking for the possibility of room upgrade, good view and late check-out (entitled to these benefits as SLH Loved member). To hotel credit they answered very fast stating that will fulfill all request with pleasure. We did arrive not together – I was the first and father arrived few hours later. Upon arrival I was immediately greeted by George - manager on duty who was very polite, looked very welcoming and informed me that all request were fulfilled and we were given the room on the 9th floor with good view. Check in was very fast and efficient with detailed explanation on hotel amenities and their location. Then I was escorted to the room not only by bill boy but also by George (which was very nice). Room itself is generously sized with very nice (and what is even more important not tired) furniture, 2 double beds, big wardrobe, bathroom with bathtub and high quality bath products (Molton Brown). All bed linens including bathrobes are of very good quality (Frette) and in good state. Wi-Fi in all hotel including the room is absolutely free and connection is very good. Upon entering the room I found bottle of good Italian wine, Belgian chocolates and welcome letter from Hotel management stating that this is welcome set with compliments from the hotel – very nice and professional touch. When my father arrived they did make for him another key and escorted him as well to the room in parallel making the call to the room stating that he already arrived (very professional touch). Re hotel location – it’s gorgeous – on the 31 East street, 1 min walk from Fifth avenue, 3 min from Empire State Building and less than 10 min to Times square while at the same time on very quiet street away from hustle and bustle of NY – so 5+ for location. Continental breakfast was included in our room rate (as SLH Loved member). Not the greatest variety of products while all of them are of very good quality, it included – ham, several types of cheese, smoked salmon, different yoghurts, cereals, fruit salad, variety of pastries and bread. Also you can order fresh orange juice, tea and coffee. Breakfast room is not big but very nice providing great atmosphere for the beginning of the day. Hotel has 24/7 fitness center which we never used so can’t comment. At the same time would like to mention very convenient option – 24/7 tea/coffee making facilities in the lobby – great to have an opportunity to make a cup in the evening or start your trip around NY with cup of hot tea or coffee in hand. Hotel is spotlessly clean, room make up – very good, also in the evening they are offering turndown service with complimentary HC (Hotel Chandler) branded chocolates – again small but pleasant touch. Public areas are not big but very nice and were never crowded – so providing sense of very warm relaxing atmosphere. Hotel service is second to none. All hotel staff members are very welcoming polite and very professional, they were always greeting us by name once we were arriving in the lobby and providing any possible help we were asking for. Front Office Manager – Millie Torres personally arrived to reception to welcome us on one of the mornings and we did have very nice chat with her as well.
All in all we loved out stay at Hotel Chandler. It really provides the feeling of a home away from home where all staff seems to care of what they are doing and treating all guests specially. They provide a lot of small touches which are making the difference between good and the best. Adding to this unbeatable location in the plain center while at the same time outside crowds I can definitely recommend the hotel to all those who would like to spend great days in in the heart of Manhattan.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor

centrally located to all the things that we like to do: eat, drink, shop.
The folks at the front desk were smiley and accommodating.
Reasonably priced and I hear they'll be getting their own restaurant soon...Juni.
We will definitely be back.

I recently traveled to NYC for business. I found Hotel Chandler to be a little gem near Madison Square Park. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I was especially pleased with the size of the bathroom. Some of the New York hotels have bathrooms that are so small you can barely move, but the bathroom was large and offered plenty of room for a woman like me with a lot of makeup and hair tools. Overall a great stay!

Traveled to NYC for my son's eighth birthday! It was amazing. The concierge Charlie made the stay wonderful for him. He wished my son a happy birthday and also surprised him with a cake with a candle when we returned to the room that night! Above and beyond.

And the hotel itself was perfect! Clean, warm, cozy beds and hot showers. The staff were all extremely accommodating and friendly. It was all and all a perfect experience. Thank you Hotel Chandler and most of all Charlie Loor for making an great memory for a little boy's NYC birthday!
