I stayed 4 nights here and found that there were some very nice things about the hotel: friendly staff, clean room, free coffee and the employees went out of their way to accomodate us. The negatives: cable and internet access was intermittent, gym was extremely limited (1 treadmill, 1 bike, 1 elliptical), room service is overpriced and food was marginal. Overall, good value for the money but far from luxurious.

Room Tip: Room with 2 double beds is larger and more comfortable than the room with 1 queen.

I'm always pleased when my travel company pulls up the Chandler as my hotel in NYC. It's a small, friendly, efficient hotel; smartly presented, clean and tidy. The very smallest rooms are a bit snug for two people, but there are plenty of rooms that are more spacious. Breakfast is rather basic (OK if it's in with the room rate) - but plenty of alternatives on your doorstep. Room rates seem excellent for this level of hotel: I mean, they even have a turn-down service in the evening, so get back from dinner and the room has been refreshed... Good location too: stone's throw from Empire State. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for six nights just got home.Staff were very helpful.Bed was very comfy.Room was clean, compact and quiet.Views were not great but the trade off was a goods night sleep. On the downside the A/C unit in our room was a bit noisey .It didn't bother us but worth considering when booking.
There us no tea/coffee in your room. Its available in reception it's reasonable and available 24/7.I would go return to this hotel when next in NYC

My husband and I enjoyed our weekend stay at the Hotel Chandler. The location was excellent for a nice walk down to the Village. The bell staff, front desk, and housekeeping were all polite, helpful and friendly. The smallish room did not bother us, but the bathroom was a bit too snug for two people to be in at once. While the shower was ample in size (and had a rainshower type faucet), the sink had little surface to speak of, and there was no other counter top space in the bathroom (consequently, little room to put toiletries, brushes, etc.). But the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Good room rate as well.

First class hotel in an unexpected neighborhood, excellent service levels, comfortable and accommodating. Nice common areas on lobby level, good fitness equipment and coffee available around the clock.

Stayed a weekend here on the way home from Canada to the UK. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean, comfortable, well-appointed room (no.1032, a Deluxe Queen, on the 10th floor so nice and quiet). Good bathroom (shower only) with all the necessaries. There is a small lounge off the lobby with TV and some excellent books on the City. Very well located in midtown just a few blocks from the Empire State. Overall an excellent base in NYC at a reasonable price. Not a flashy hotel but it has its own immaculate charm. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

Room Tip: For peace and quiet go for a higher floor room at the rear of the hotel.

Having stayed at the Hotel Chandler for 3 nights last week I have to say what a nice hotel it is. Very clean everywhere. Courteous staff who are only too happy to help with ordering taxis, opening doors etc. My husbands only gripe was that with it being 4* he expected tea/coffee making facilities in the room. There was a mini bar and sweets (very expensive) but thats all. There was however FREE tea, coffee * lemon water in the hotel foyer.
The locations good too. 5 minutes to the Empire State Building. All in all we would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We had a superior queen room which was small BUT certainly big enough. The bathroom was large and mo...

Any review entitled LOVELY HOTEL makes my day!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to write.

I am delighted that you enjoyed the cleanliness of the hotel, complimentary coffee and tea service and the now fully completed remodeling of the lobby, library, breakfast lounge, bar and guest rooms. We shall be opening a new restaurant towards the beginning of next year. I will keep you posted!

Kind regards,

MR
