I am used to camping and caravanning and hotels are just used when I am on city breaks; saying that the room, bed and bathroom were very small even for a seasoned camper (in fact my tent is bigger!). The bathroom takes some negotiation to not knock yourself and there is no kettle etc (I always take one); however, there is a fridge. What makes the Hudson is the location.......next to Central Park, a short walk to Broadway and Hells Kitchen etc. You can also get the subway there from the airport so saving dollars! I have stayed here twice as part of a deal - the first time I got free breakfast, the second time not, also had some issues with Wi-Fi (which was not free). However, the buzz of the hotel, clean space and common areas make up for this. If you are only using this as a base, it is ideal and you can sae money as you are so close you can walk to everything! Small dollar pizza shop next door and a supermarket nearby for essentials.

The Hudson is one of the Morgan Hotels group of SBE and is a perfect getaway spot for a trip to NYC in general and to the Upper West Side in particular. Lovely lobby level with a nice library bar where you can relax and even play pool plus a branch of Umami Burger if you was an informal breakfast or lunch (or burger dinner). Rooms range from small to spacious but even small ones are a pleasure.

Room is tiny that's a supreme queen room too, no coffee or tea making facilities, my 5"3 8 stone wife has to turn on a side to through the bathroom door, decor on the entrance is bizarre not welcoming then up the elevators it is lovely, boutique ?? No, pretentious yes..

Outstanding value for a buzzy, clean and vibrant hotel. We were exhausted and it was lovely to have a place that in the common spaces you felt like you were out on the town! But your room was a quiet oasis. We checked in, ate at umami burger (a fav from LA) had a drink and people watched. I didn't feel like I missed seeing a night on the tiles in NYC when I choose but I didn't hear it in my room. Also super convenient and lovely staff. Would happily stay again.

Room Tip: Try to be mid-hotel

The hotel is next to Central Park and this makes it easy to go any time and walk, have a pick nick or just sit and see newyorkers and tourists pass. It is very well communicated through different subway stations.
