“best burger ever”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

The smoke shack burger is the best. Its spicy but not too much. Don't forget the milkshake. Seating is very limited but seats open quickly as you wait for a few minutes for you order. As with the rest of New York, know what you want before you get in line. This location is close to the 9/11 memorial. The line at the memorial is long and slow so make sure and take care of your needs before you get there.

“Burger is great. and yes, indoor seating, is tight”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

In good weather, there is also outdoor seating. In fact, even today some sat outdoors. Wish it had another level. Bathrooms and water dispensers are handy. I usually take little kids who love the ketchup dispensers and the beeping devices to hold that will signal when your order is ready for pick up. Basically, it is a line up, order, pay, wait, pick up joint. Not as fast as McDonald's. Very tasty and surprisingly inexpensive.Hot dogs are good also. Don't ge the mushroom "burger" unless you like Fr fried mushrooms-ugh blech. Somethign for vegetarians but not yuck this. There is apple juice for young visitors. I can't vouch for the fries but the cheese slathered ones look good. Some wine and maybe beer and decadent shakes and concretes (thick shakes with mix ins--fort of Blizzrd like) Close to a public library and playgrounds and also Ground Zero.

“Awesome Burger! But limited seating!”
Reviewed December 22, 2013

One of the best burgers we've ever had! The special sauce was incredible! The concretes were also good. Was difficult finding a place to sit as the place is small.

“Uhhhh - fine - just fine”
Reviewed November 26, 2013 via mobile

But wonder if all the hype is because it's fairly priced. Food is fine but let's be honest. It's limited. You have to wait (hovering and later being hovered over) to sit/to pick up your order. The staff is barely friendly. For some reason, I channelled California's In and Out Burger while at Shake Shack ( order/pick up concept and even quality of burger). My girls thought the shakes were good (but not the best they've had), I wondered why the buns stuck to the burgers and thought the fries were well cooked but somewhat bland. I don't know; it was ok but really didn't live up to all the kudos.
