“Great value food in Manhattan”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

Great quality food at prices that we couldn't find cheaper in that area of Manhattan. Long opening hours which is really convenient and less than a block away from Central Park on 6th Ave.

“The Real Deli Deal and a Steal”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

One of the things I wanted to do was have an authentic deli experience like at Katz Deli or one of the other famous delis. We did not go to any of the famous ones. Katz charges 22 bucks for a pastrami sandwich that weighs 16 ounces. Now, I can eat that, no problem. But, not my wife. She could not even eat half that. So, we tried Angela's as we were walking back from Central Park. It is so authentic. Place was filled with normal everyday New Yorkers eating great sandwiches at a very reasonable price. I had a great Reuben sandwich. She had a corned beef sandwich. One order of fries is enough for two people. It has a counter. Behind the counter you can watch the cooks doing their thing. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. For the money, the quality of the food, the atmosphere, I would go to Angela's all the time to eat--if I lived or worked near Central Park around 57th Street. Don't let the 'dive' appearance fool you. This is probably what Katz was 30 years ago, before the great reviews turned it into a tourist destination. This is one of those gems, those great finds, you just enjoy and savor and hope they don't change.

“Great Deli”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

We had lunch and breakfast here during our stay in NYC. 6 dollar breakfast special included a beverage, eggs, meat, potatoes and toast. Burgers at lunch were large and delicious. Good value for the area. Nice service, small seating area.

We hired a pedicab for a Central Park tour and asked the driver to recommend a place for a late breakky. He didn't hesitate to recommend Angela's, and even took us there at the end! Had a classic french toast with eggs and bacon. Mmmm! The service was a bit haphazard, but as it was the morning before the hurricane, and everyone was wondering how they would get home, I'll forgive them!
