Wonderful experience each and every time. Location in midtown is convenient. Small hotel provides tailored service. Wonderful sleeping accommodations. I'm spoiled by their pillow menu. It's a great value!

The location is perfect - one stop from grand central station, 2 mins to green line 6 station, or a 10min walk from Central Park and fifth avenue. At the weekend there was a nice street market just around the corner. There are a couple of nice coffee shops nearby and restaurants within walking distance. Only downside is the central location makes it quite noisy - constant traffic and taxis beeping their horns/ sirens through the night.
The hotel itself is quite boutiquey. The rooms are surprisingly large a have some nice added amenities like coffee machine, bath robes etc. However, the overall quality is a little lacking - cheapest coffee machine (doesn't taste great), rough bed linen, hard pillows, air con that is very noisy and doesn't cool very well.
The shower is nice and the bathroom an ok size, just a little rundown decor wise.
The restaurant/ bar is nice and has a nice atmosphere. We had a couple of cocktails which were delicious and pretty decent value. The wine list however is ridiculously expensive. As is in room dining. A yoghurt and granola, orange juice, coffee and pancakes was crazy expensive and while quite tasty, did not warrant the price at all or the 45 minute wait for service.
Wifi on the room is a bit expensive but quick, or there is free on the lobby. The lobby is a bit unwelcomingly dark though and not really somewhere you would want to sit and chill.
Overall a nice hotel, great for location, but let down a little by the lack of luxury detail and the slightly uninterested reception staff. Likewise the concierge did not have the range of discount vouchers, jump the queues etc or restaurant knowledge that other hotel concierges I have visited have.

Recently stayed here, where their website has an offer for great deals on suites, which are huge and very nicely laid out. I was also offered an upgrade for $14 per night to a superior suite with a terrace subject to availability. Shame about the bathroom shower curtain and smell, and the loud a/c. Luckily the weather was not too hot, but if it were the noise could have been a problem. Location is very good and having stayed at other large hotels in NYC, I found The Benjamin to be much cosier than other hotels in the area. Service was friendly but could have been warmer, however I guess this is NYC after all.

I have been staying at the Benjamin for years. It is my favorite hotel in the city and possibly in the whole world. The rooms are beautiful and the staff is always welcoming and helpful. They mean it when they say they are a dog friendly hotel, I bring my dog every time and she loves it. We love the free bark box. We look forward to seeing Omar every time we visit, he always takes great care of us. The Benjamin should be very proud to have Omar on their staff!! Keep up the great work!

Excellent facilities and service, great location. The staff were especially attentive to our needs and made us feel relaxed even on business. The food at the restaurant was outstanding and we didn't feel rushed.

Good hotel, comfortable enough. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Location is pretty good, easy walk to Central Park and various NYC attractions.

Room service good but relatively expensive, as is the minibar. Would prefer not to have to pay additional for wifi.

Smallish gym open 24 hours with good equipment.

The hotel was nice, clean and spacious. Just don't try to feed dinner to your child in the National (hotel restaurant) before 5:30. At. 5:15 we were given rude responses from both the hostess and the manager about trying to order from the kids menu.
