First trip to NYC with our two dogs. Superb hotel with excellent service. From the front desk to the doorman the service was top notch. Despite finding difficult to locate a patch of grass or dirt for the dogs nearby, this hotel ranks as one of the best in NYC in my opinion.

Stayed here 3 weeks ago with my mother in a double room. The rooms were big, beds super comfortable, staff fabulous. Location great, near 2 subway stations, close to 5th avenue. It was wonderful to retreat here after a huge day in NYC. Would not hesitate in staying here again or recommending to friends. The kitchenette was great as we could have our own breakfast in the room if we wanted too. We never had to wait more than a minute or two for the lifts. Lovely ambience and the restaurant downstairs has fantastic food.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the street which we loved on the 12th floor. The higher up the less traff...

The place is nice in a good location and the staff is nice, but WARNING if you have to do business and need internet. There is a chance you will not have it in your room and you will have to go to the lobby or small business center. This really sucked for us as we do late night work emails and early morning and don't really like getting up and going into the world before we get our work done. I hate it!
So, not all of the rooms have internet service. If you are on the other side from where the server is you will not have internet service. I guess people don't use this for business.
There is a small fridge and kitchen stuff that is really nice! It's a nice hotel, but as I said not for business if you want to do business in your room. I wish I would have know, I would have never booked it. Also, don't go to the Nationa restaurant if you are going to eat unless it's main eating hours, we arrived at 3:30 from Seattle and no server, then the manager came to apologize, then starving 1/2 hour later manager gone and we ask what seems to be a new server if they had forgotton our food, a few minutes later our food arrives pretty luke warm. The soup was actually coldish, we couldn't eat it. The burger was pretty good and so were the ribs we were starving, but like I said cold. $50 bucks for lukewarm food is kind of steep. I can see where it would be better served hot and you are not forgotten. It's been a ruff place for us, especially for paying about $500 a night with the upgrade. Maybe that is not much in NYC terms, but I we were wanting a better service and internet in our room.

Room Tip: One with internet if needed :) It wasn't just our room. I spoke to another man and he said he ga...

Stayed at this hotel while in NYC for a wedding. Room was oversized for the city andneven had its own separate living room. Room was extremely quiet which is a big plus.
Check in was efficient and pleasant.
Restaurant off lobby is very attractive and Not crowded.
Didnt eat breakfast so not sure what thats like.
Location is excellent- close to subway
This is not an exciting place to be however and the bathrooms andndecor are dated.
The Omni Berkshire Place whcih is very close by and comparable price-wise is probably a better choice.

I somehow found myself without any cash in my pocket while hailing a cab near The Benjamin yesterday in rush hour. Muhammad was working the door at the hotel and offered to help, but I declined telling him I'd accidently left my cash at home and couldn't tip him. His response was to smile and then sprint halfway down the block to grab what seemed like the only taxi available in all of Manhattan. In a city where greed can often cloud judgment, Muhammad's unselfish kindness is a great asset to the hotel. Thanks!

the hotel is fine and the rooms are good (internet not included- but Starbucks is acroos the road for free)- price is Ok and the staff are fine. For NY this is a good and reasonable place with no added stuff. The rrom we had, also included a small fridge and microwave that would be useful if we took our youngsters!!
A really nice restaurant- the |Ashely?? is nearby with graet fish and chips at a great price

Room Tip: As high as possible
