This hotel is steps away from Times Square and yet it is quiet. The room was very modern, well decorated and spotless. The staff are friendly and very helpful. They welcome you back every time you enter and there is always someone to open the door for you. Free breakfast is healthy and plentiful. This was a savings of over fifty dollars a day. The lobby is beautiful and they even offer a complimentary cocktail in the evenings. If you are visiting New York and want to stay near Times Square this is a great hotel!

The Muse was cool boutique hotel. It is located only 1/2 block from Time square with easy access to cabs and subways. The accomodations were modern, well decorated and had a stocked fridge. The Bed and pillows were very comfortable. The only downside was small rooms and no dressing table with a mirror. Staff was courteous and knowledgeable. There were several little shops with snacks and drinks just outside the fron of the hotel.

We will be back.

Room Tip: Try and get a room above the 6th floor, due to street noise from time square traffic.

Cannot fault anything with the stay - immaculate rooms, efficient and friendly concierge/porters and steps away from Times Square. Came for our honeymoon and received a nice surprise from the hotel - made it that little bit extra special. Excellent location

I am a Kimpton fan and always stay at their properties when I can. All in all we had a great stay at The Muse. We spent seven nights at the hotel for our 20th anniversary. Linda and Anna at the front desk were so friendly and helpful. Linda always greeted us by name and she gave us a choice between two rooms when we checked in. One was a room with a separate sitting area and one was a room with a huge balcony. We chose the room with the balcony though the room with the separate sitting area had a nicer bathroom. The housekeeping staff were also very friendly and thorough.

As many have said, the hotel is half a block away from Times Square. For us the location was perfect as we saw four shows so proximity to theatres was paramount for us. As well, the hotel is close to many subway lines so traveling to other parts of the city was so easy.

We only encountered a few negatives at the hotel hence the 4/5 rating. First, and I read this on one of the previous reviews, the hotel always seems to have black suvs or sedans out front instead of taxis. The bellman suggested we take one of those cars since he couldn't get us a taxi. Unless you like to waste your money, don't take one of these cars. One driver said he would charge us $45 to go to the southwest corner of Central Park. We walked over to 8th and a cab only cost us $6. I am surprised that the manager of the hotel endorses the use of these highly over priced cars to unsuspecting patrons.

The other negatives were that the toilet in our room was oddly placed in that it was uncomfortably close to the wall. The shower curtain would "attack" us, the room had a slightly unpleasant odour and the air conditioner above ours dripped onto our A/C unit making a pinging noise.

Dear jbg2,

Thank you for your thorough and positive feedback. We are beyond delighted you chose to spend your 20th Anniversary with us! It is wonderful to read our concierge team assisted you so well from check in to check out!

We appreciate your feedback about our car service. This service is available as an alternative for a taxi, which can be difficult at times to retrieve. However, the bell staff will always be happy to hail a taxi for you as well. We will make sure to convey your feedback to the limousine company.

We hope to have the chance to welcome you back in the future!

My husband and I stayed at the Muse over July 4th with our little rescue dog. The staff is fantastic. Polite, friendly, informative. It was our dogs birthday and they even had a cake delivered to the room with a hand drawn picture and card wishing him a happy birthday. We want to thank Mia, Barbara, the doormen and everyone else that made us feel so welcome (excuse me for not remembering everyone's name). The complimentary wine hour was great and the hotel was close to everything and immaculate. We look forward to our next visit.

Recently stayed 4 nights in a suite at this boutique hotel on a recommendation from a co-worker. It was a great choice for a long holiday weekend in NYC. The location was perfect for Broadway and sight seeing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I used the concierge several times for show tickets and dinner reservations, they consider my needs and gave me great recommendations. Had one minor maintenance issue and the staff promptly responded and corrected the condition. Overall a great hotel and I would highly recommend it.

The room was very clean, nicely furnished, and the beds were very comfortable. Great experience.

Room Tip: Suite was nice with separate living and bedroom area. Great for traveling with friends and family.
