I found this place from a post from Alton Brown. This place is in the village, on a quiet tree lined street.
Upon entering you will see the place is very small. Probably not good for groups but good for a couple of your friends. Since I'm usually in NYC on my own- I sat at the bar. There is a little patio towards the back.
I ordered the steak tartare as it was recommended. It did not disappoint!
The style of the restaurant is tapas style- small plates. I was not too hungry but my dish was small but delicious.

Buvette serves small tapas style dishes of french cuisine, ideal for sharing! If you are starving hungry i wouldn't recommend this, as you'd really need to order a lot. We were a party of 5, and ordered all together about 9 dishes excluding desert. Food was great, atmosphere was nice and welcoming, the place is not big, and unfortunately the beautiful garden was already closed. So everything feels cozy and hectic at the same time. Recommended!

Has an intoxicating "elegant hole in the wall" feeling with candles, a crammed bar, tiny tables & sexy wine list.
Great French Menu with excellent French dishes including rillettes, gorgeous cheeses, coq a vin & more.
But a 90 minute dinner for two cost $US 300 (9 glasses of red)- but still. Outrageous.

My girlfriend is a big fan of Via Carota and wanted to try its associated French cousin down the street for brunch. We sat at the bar and were instantly taken by all the delicious sights and smells. I guess one should not be surprised by the authenticity when it has a second location in Paris. At the bar, we witnessed many of the delicious dishes being served - each dish looking better than the last. Coming in at noon we ordered one breakfast and one lunch. The scrambled eggs with lox on toast was delicious. The eggs were perfectly runny. The lox was nice smoked - served with two pieces of toast, a dollop of cream, and caperberries. The presentation was only exceeded by the flavours of the dish. The steak tartare was well seasoned and nice ground (to a very nice consistency). The tartare was similiarly served on toast, with a nice assortment of olives, caperberries, and pickles. Aside from a very good espresso, and very freshly squeezed orange juice, the suggested wines (a white and a red) were perfectly matched. The service was most friendly and hospitable - which may make it the only thing not truly, authentically French. If sitting at the bar is not your thing, they have a charming terrasse (aka patio) in the rear.

Was recommended this place for Brunch, waited 30 minutes for a table, was worth the wait, truly enjoy their charcuterie place and cold cut, great coffee.
