“Lovely for a breakfast bite”

Possibly best coffee ever - try the cortado. Delicious! So quaint and lovely for a late morning breakfast. The vibe is great - such a nice way to start the day and located in a wonderful neighbourhood.

“Fantastic little gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2014 via mobile

My god I love this place. A gorgeous little cafe of the beaten track in the West Village. BEST coffee in NYC. We had scrambled and baked eggs on toast. They were the best. This place is so quaint would have loved to have eaten there at night. Definitely recommend it. Five stars to the chefs and staff.

“Very cozy french bistro - I mean VERY cozy”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2014

We stopped here on a Saturday around 4:30pm. Kind of between lunch and dinner crowds and it was packed. No outdoor seating available or at the bar. We ended up at a tiny table near the stairs. This is a very cozy little spot. I'm used to small restaurants in this area, but this is really small. With people, wait staff, etc, it's a busy little place.

We tried a sample of small plates, assortment of cheese, proscuitto and steamed mussells. All were fine. A little pricey but expected for that area.

We did feel rushed. This was not at all relaxing. There seemed a distinct desire to turn tables as fast as possible. By the time we left, there was line out the door. This certainly does not have the feel of a slow, relaxing, quiet dinner atmosphere. With all the other choices around, I don't think I would wait in line to try this again.

“Amazing food, atmosphere and value for money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2014

I cannot recommend Buvette enough. we had the Croque Madame for breakfast on our first morning in New York and fell in love with the food and charm of the small restaurant.

Cannot recommend highly enough and will be going next time I am in the city

“Fantastic Secret!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2014

Exploring the West Village and Soho ensures that you bump into great finds such as this place on what otherwise is a residential street. Great food and fantastic service. We had lunch but the menu is predominantly a breakfast food place but it suits any time of day. The Croque Madam was amazing and the virgin bloody mary to help with the night before was just the right order. Nice coffee and the pastries are amazing. Worth the scouting trip to track this place down!
